Silent Hiking 100km in Los Picos de Europa

Күн бұрынI solo hiked and backpacked 100km in Picos De Europa national park. It's located in northern Spain near the spanish coast. Picos de Europa literally translated is 'Peaks of Europe' which is part of the Cantabrian mountains. This hike was a lot of times above the treeline and monstrous ascends and descends(in my opinion) compared to what I'm used to doing on hiking trips. I also do not recommend this hike to do with your dog.

Tip to all young people looking at this. Don’t delay. Do it. It was my dream in my early thirties. Now I am 60. I have health issues now and it is too late for me. What does it matter if you get there and give up after a day. What a beautiful day you will have!

I looked at the trail map for the Ruta Circular and my eyes bulged at the elevation gain. That is some crazy drastic and beautiful landscape you got to see, hope I get to see it with my own eyes one day as well.

Los picos de Europa was my first hiking experience. already 30 years ago and returned for about 15 times. been there 4 years ago and it looked even more beautiful than it was at the time. did I recognized el bouquete? great video. bedankt!

Hi Yens! I admire all you videos💚🍀👏. I imagine hiking with your friend - a dog - is special for both of you. I feel inspired by you the same as by Harmen or Kraig. Keep creating I'll be watching your films and listen to music. By the way - can you imagine I watch your videos and such as yours while Inexercise on my orbitrek simulating hiking in mountains.... this makes the training really more realistic and motivate to be ready for real hike... I trully advice💪 Last - question- do you recomand to get the harness and helmet for hike in Pucos de Europa? Regards, Tomasz

Hi, can you share the track. You stsrted close to Sotres, went up to Uriellu, then over to los Cabrones, down to Bulnes and then down to Poncebos. How did you continue? Did you wenr up the canal de tree with your dog. I guess you passed Refugio Ario.

Thank you! Water wasn't a problem for me. I was able to find water everyday. I carried 2L.

I completely disagree. That kind of terrain is a walk on the park for that dog. I had a dog like that and did plenty of trail evem tougher than that and the dog just wanted more. They know that they are part of a team (man and dog) so they dont fear the terrain..they trust their owner to look after them. Did you see that dog scared at any point in this video?? Never...that says it all. Keep up the good work buddy!! You and youre dog are amazing!!!

This episode was hard for me to watch. I understand the decision you made to traverse steep mountain terrain putting yourself at risk. But watching your dog do it because of you seemed careless to me. Your videos are amazing, your videography is breathtaking, I just prefer your four legged buddy not be placed in dangerous situations.

I did poor research beforehand on my end, so that's my mistake and like I mentioned this in the description this terrain is not for dogs. It automatically translates into the fact I won't be doing something similar with my dog again :).

Probably not pet friendly. But I’ve take my 4 and 5 yr old boys with me on some very difficult hikes, just gotta know when to push the pedal and when to lay off the gas. I don’t think he was careless, he obviously cares for his pooch.
