Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror video game Release back in September 24, 2001.
James Sunderland is the protagonist of the main scenario of Silent Hill 2. He comes to the town after receiving a letter from his wife Mary, who died of an illness three years before. While exploring the town, he encounters Maria, who strongly resembles Mary except for a different personality and clothing; Angela Orosco, a teenage runaway on a search for her mother; Eddie Dombrowski, another teenage runaway who was somehow brought to the town; and Laura, an eight-year-old who has met and befriended Mary.
Much of the gameplay consists of navigating the town and finding keys or other items to bypass doors or other obstructions, with less focus on killing enemies. Occasionally puzzles will be presented, often with riddles left for the player to interpret.The difficulty levels of the enemies and the puzzles are determined independently by the player before starting the game. James keeps a radio with him, which alerts him to the presence of creatures by emitting static, allowing him to detect them even through the thick fog. He also tilts his head in the direction of a nearby item or monster. For combat, he finds three melee weapons and three firearms over the course of the game, with another two melee weapons unlocked during replays. Health restoratives and ammunition can be found throughout the game.

Honestly I gotta disagree here. While they do look pretty good, you can tell it has some quirks to the CGI like the fact that the models tend to jitter in some scenes and the lighting being off in some scenes

@@hypnos9336 For the comparison I think the term you are looking for is "Kitsch." The most films and video games are kitsch art, but every so often there is one made with a genuine intent, purpose and understanding of how to portray thoughts and ideas to the audience. Silent Hill 2 is undoubtedly among them. As for its remake it remains to be seen. Its trailer makes James seem grief stricken but not deeply traumatized like in the original work.

Like all art: music, movies, video games, paintings, there is a flood of garbage but what matters are the gems inside it. Dead Space is among that, even The Suffering 1 and 2 even though they're not as depthful.

I remember that 2021 was a horrible year for me, I lost a lot, people who loved me betrayed me, my own parents betrayed me, I was psychologically tortured, I was threatened by many things, not even in my dreams I had peace, I dreamed with that and everything even worse, it was horrible, i tried to kill myself several times, it was a real hell, i was hoping that at least Silent Hill would be revealed that year for me to at least die seeing the franchise come back, it didn't happen at the time, but at least I saw Tobey Maguaire and Andrew Garfield Coming back together, thank God I didn't die too!!!! I remember that once I was very close to killing myself, but a friend of mine saved me and we currently have this channel me and him together, thank God things got better, and today I finally saw the return of Silent Hill and I'm still alive, I don't even intend to kill myself anymore, I'm very happy that the franchise is back, I'm really looking to buy a PS5 and already pre-order the game to play at launch, I want to play now with the people who really like me, finally I'm free from this torment, I remember that I compared to Silent Hill what I lived, my biggest nightmare had become real and it was in front of me, but thank God it's all over, I'm happy and I have the people who really love me with me, thank you very much to God!!!!! Thank you to the people who helped me live !!!! And thank you also people who read the comment, thank you all very much!!!!!!

There is indeed. Sony is currently trying to patch up things to get Silent Hills off the ground. Kojima was seen to be holding a pencil with the words Pyramid while mentioning the word silent. Norman Reedus currently in talks to work on another project with Kojima. Former members of Team Silent reportedly working on the new Silent Hills according to reliable leaker. Silent Hills is cancelled due to COVID-19 All the ghosts are currently down with a fever and the sick people are surprisingly acting normal. The sky is clear from the lack of pollution. Silent Hill is sunshine and rainbows now.

I guess I was too young to appreciate this game for what it was when it came out. I just wanted to shoot things lol. Into my 30s now and I find myself coming back here not out of nostalgia, but because this game actually reminds me of where I'm at in life right now. Konami *did* lose the source code, that much is true. Thankfully, the game also *isn't* a PlayStation 2 exclusive! It got a special edition on PS2 that laid the groundwork for the ports it received to Microsoft's Xbox console and Windows computer OS, both of which are fairly decent versions. Alas, Konami outsourced work on their Silent Hill HD Collection which includes Silent Hill 2 and provided the developers beta data and code to work from, resulting in overall inferior versions of both Silent Hill 2 and 3 on PS3 and 360, as well as shafting the original voice cast and the fans by redubbing both games, only including the original dub for 2 due to overwhelming fan response. The PS3 version got patched up to an acceptable standard, though 360 owners were left in the cold. PS2 Greatest Hits is the second-best version of Silent Hill 2 to play today aside from the aforementioned Windows port with the Enhanced Edition modpack, which provides all the necessary fixes to make it on par with the PS2 version and then goes one step further by including higher quality full motion video and CGs for puzzles. Unfortunately, the PC version is still not being sold digitally so you'll need to either track down a retail copy or sail the high seas.
