After my grandmother died, I offered to my mom to listen to this song. She was just... numb. She didn't mourn, didn't cry, she was acting like a machine. She wasn't able to properly process the situation. It's not nice to speak ill of the dead, but in truth, grandma was a selfish user, treated my mom like a means to an end her whole life. When my mom was born, grandma hated her because she wasn't a boy. And she didn't treat me any better either, I was just an extension of her favorite usable object and an emotional punching bag. On the other hand, my mom and I have a beautiful relationship, and I couldn't have wished for better. So I played this song to her, and then she was finally able to cry a little, and let herself feel. She said to me, "thank you, honey". Mom doesn't like pity and empty words of comfort, but music? This is what we've always had in common.

I love this song, it makes me feel validated about the parents I had. Abandonment, lies and mind games, gaslighting, all of these leave mental scars that will last a lifetime. Singing this song helps me recognize that I really couldn't control the circumstances in which I grew up in, and give the little me from back then the parental affection every child deserves.

Such a powerful song. A lot of great music in the franchise but this may be my favorite. Helps that it has lyrics. Lyrics that are very dark but emotional.

This song is probably my favorite song from silent hill, its haunting, somber, and beautiful. Have been coming back liatening to this song almost every week for the last year. Hope to play sh4 someday, as i just recently played the community hd upgrades for 2 and 3 since the games are unfortunatley abandonware at this point.
