Off the coast of Borneo, Tawi Tawi was a Fleet Carrier base late in the war, because of its close proximity to Borneos oil fields. Where you was pointing on the convoy map was a oil tanker convoy route.

I actually saw a torpedo fly over a destroyers bow. It was crazy, the destroyer took a dive just as the torpedo did a flying fish. I was flabbergasted!

There is a Balao Class sub in my town in Oklahoma of all places. The USS Batfish. Its a museum that you can explore its so awesome!!!!!

That motor torpedo boat at around the 6 minute mark was carrying 5 depth charges before it made its first attack - and still had 5 depth charges after. I think they're either using magic or the cook's bottled farts.

If I remember correctly. When I played the cd game. The air search radar shuts off when you dive and you have to manually turn it back on. It was a vanilla game issue.

That was a torpedo drop profile on that one down low. that is what you got hit with... Thank goodness it was an air-dropped torpedo.

Trying to work out if the Japanese Torpedo Boat was a specific Class or just a generic thing created when the game designers got bored of research. It had a helluva load of depth charges for one so small.

I think in the real world you'd have been reprimanded if not court martialed for not diving when under air attack and needlessly endangering your sub. The guns were to be a last resort, not the preferred method of air defense. And yes, we know the Navy pronounced it "Buh-lay-oh" but the correct pronounciation is "Buh-low" as in "ow" when you get hurt.

I played this game few years ago and all sailors were flat. Visible side was turning with my movement. Anyone else have/had that problem? Otherwise good game.

USS Balao (Bah-lay-oh...your pronunciation is still epic fail-level) is now up to 599,185 tons (counting your previous career that malfunctioned. Nice work! If you want better targets, I'd switch bases. Go back to Pearl Harbor and you'll go right off Japan. Should have plenty of high-value targets then.

@@TonySpike No, Its a Yank boat, so it gets the Yank pronunciation, you limey. We beat your ass twice and saved it twice more, so it gets pronounced the way we say it does.
