That N-type freighter never knew what hit them. Was just sailing then the boat just exploded out of no where... Can't even being to understand the fear the merchant navy had for submarine attacks, but it must have been horrible.

Excellent! Taff takes to the seas again! Like all your videos and can’t quite work out where you find the time to record and edit it all! 👏 Keep up the great work!

Thanks Taff. Would like to see the rear tube in use to finish another of the convoy.

Well done mission! Also, your efforts to improve your vids are showing (although I've always enjoyed them anyway): slick editing, appropriate cuts to external view, increased efforts to involve the viewer by turning up the hydrophone, asking us questions like "Do you see/hear anything?", etc.. Suggestion/question on speed check: your usual procedure is to stop the watch, then draw a line from original mark to the target, which has moved while you were stopping the watch and drawing the line. Can you not first mark the target's new position when time's up, then stop the watch, then measure the distance between marks? I haven't played SH, so I don't know if it will let you do it this way, but it should give more accurate results. Checklist: mark position, start the watch, wait, mark position, stop the watch, measure distance. Another suggestion/question, probably mentioned by someone before: for a quick speed check, have you considered timing for 20 seconds and then dividing distance covered by 10? Granted, not as accurate if you don't follow the checklist and mark the target's new position right at 20 seconds (actually should be 19.5 sec), and no need if you have plenty of time, but might be useful for doing a quick check just before you fire if you suspect target has changed speed. Also could be good when you are in the middle of a convoy and trying to successively target several ships, which is when you sometimes assume they are all going the same speed and miss because they aren't.

thanks, I'm trying a few different styles to see if YT like it without (hopefully) taking away the content people like

Getting back into the groove again after a bit of a sketchy start. I still prefer SH 5 over U boat.

Good vid, Taff. Just a question... If a ship is less than a couple thousand metres away, and is starting to swerve/zigzag, why do you often choose a slower speed setting? (for a steam torpedo) If ship is relatively close, then range is not an issue, but the slower settings give them more time to swerve.
@sanatatic3 жыл бұрын
I think it's because the torpedo takes time to arm itself so he's accounting for it to reduce the number of 'duds'

Does anyone know how to solve the bug when you can't fill out the bar for a mission ?

Can you disable the "tracking" of enemy ships? Sort of like a hard/expert mode. Seeing those in the map, moving and with their visual range indicator takes away a bit of the experience 😬

They would have someone tracking the ship anyway my friend.

quick question: how broken is SH5 still with all the mods nowadays?
