Our 200 acre lake in Illinois had mussels then we introduced Shellcrackers which is a Red Ear sunfish. Dont know if we have any now. I put one in a bucket for a day and it pooped ground up shells.

I'm studying for my Zoology exam and watching this video helped me a lot since one of the questions in the test will be about this specific member of the Class Bivalvia. Thank you! Quick question by the way, what will happen to those Mussels after they're contained or captured? Just curious.

The Material Sciences may have to come up with surfaces that these mussles can't adhere to. Using phemto cell lasers I think it's possible to do!

Maybe for ornamental fish rearing purpose they can be used as natural aquarium filter to make the water in the fish tanks clear so that one does not have to clean their fish tanks more often. My observation of sucker catfish to keep the fish tank clean is that overtime the tank still remain dirty because these sucker catfish can still poop a lot. These mussels can make the water look clear in short period, it means they can also be used to make the water look clear in any fish tank.

On a different note does anyone know if you can eat these if they are grow in clean water? Can they be used to make pearls? Some see Zebra and Quagga mussels as an invasive species but I see them as potential domestic species.
