It’s pretty easy. Usually you just follow the flow of the traffic. Only problem can arise when you find a weird roundabout and there’s no other cars around to give you a hint. But then again, then there’re no other cars around either so you can take your time.

i used to be a bus driver, he is able to get into that little train because he is watching his passenger side rear wheel in the mirror. since that is the pivot point, all you need to do is line it up with where you'd want it to be after straightening. keep in mind that even though the bus is long, the wheels are closer together than the total length, which gives you pretty good turning radius

Good explanation! Always wondered how buses could move seemingly horizontally from a stop
@goglurk2
@goglurk2 2 жыл бұрын
@@mighty9156 Not entirely sure why you'd assume he couldn't? I drive a bus for a living, anything from 10m to 24.8m with up to 3 joints and I'll drive through harder turns than this on a normal shift. From what I can tell, it's a single rear-axel VDL which actually makes these kind of turns easier, because as Ross mentioned, all you need to do is line up the rear axel and the front will follow smoothly. And judging by the video, the actual entry point on the cart for the train, has plenty of space. If I can put my hand inbetween what I'm driving next to, that's a lot of space between the bus and what's next to me. I will also say, that the driver is clearly experienced seeing how he gives almost no attention to the front, making it obvious that he knows what he's doing and how big his vehicle is.

@Skylancer727
@Skylancer727 2 жыл бұрын
I mean trains by nature have very little issue with weight due to their incredibly low rolling resistance. The car you drive very likely was brought there on a train in the first place. Ever seen the auto racks? In the US, while we don't have public rail that picks up your car, the auto racks likely brought your car there from the other side of the country. They're double stacked cars making them fairly unique to other rail cars. Just a shame we don't have this kind of transport. Rail is vastly cheaper to run and makes vastly less pollution.

It’s often easier in a bus or truck than in a car because of the height of the cabin. You can see over the top of other traffic, which helps a lot, especially when it comes to overtaking. Overtaking when driving a “wrong-sided” car is a genuine hazard, best avoided altogether.
