Large projects can be intimidating, especially if you have a small format printer. But never fear, Creative Fabrica is here to show you how to print and combine multiple pages to create a larger print for your project! ✨
In this video tutorial, we will show you how to upload your design files into Silhouette Studio, size your cut file to fit your project, examine the print area, position and print the various pages of your design, how to combine your prints into one larger page, and finally, how to press the design to your garden flag. Thank you so much for this tutorial! This is exactly what I needed. I have tried Inkscape, CanvasWorkspace & Silhouette Studio, but I was missing some of the steps I needed, in Silhouette Studio! I was having trouble lining up my design so it would print correctly. This has been a big help. Thanks again.

Excellent tutorial!! This is how I've been creating garden flags for about a year now. I finally got a wide format printer but can't get it to work properly yet. As soon as I do, I can't wait to make some flags so much easier. Thank you Becky!! All of your projects are beautiful!! 🌸🌺🏵🌹🌼🌷🌻💐

How did you avoid getting lines on the flag where the papers overlap? I keep getting lines showing where the papers overlap but unlike with a tumbler you can't really cut in to the overlap to make the lines go away. What am I missing?

You will want to make sure your prints are lined up exactly with no gap or overlap where the designs end on each sheet. 😊

Hey Joy! These flags I use aren't double-sided, they are too thin for that. But if you check out Conde, they have nice double-sided flags that you can use this same process, you would just flip it over and press another design. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Great vid! Just what I needed! ***QUESTION*** - I noticed that the completed project has darkened the white offset to a dark gray (right down the middle of the flag). Is this from overlapping the heat press? Did too much heat cause that center area to look like that? I've been wondering the results of 'too much time' with a heat press. I've only done HTV, so I am just about to attempt sublimation. Thanks for any tips with that! Keep up the great tutorials!

Hi Kevin! Thanks for your question! ❤️ This can happen if you press for too long and can darken that specific area. With pressing, make sure that you use a heat transfer cover sheet and don't use too much pressure when pressing! 🥰 This definitely takes some practice and you can always reach out to us at hi@creativefabrica.com if you have any questions or need any help!

Hey Susan! Cricut Design Space is very limited for printing Sublimation, I wouldn't recommend it for this project, to be honest. Do you have any other software you are familiar with? ---Becky

Hi is their double-sided heat tape for parts like that when we overlap it could stay more flatter ? Thank u

Hey Ida! I don't know of any heat safe tape that is double sided, but if you use a thicker tape it will help a lot. I keep the thin stuff on hand but I'd recommend a variety of sizes for different projects. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Those are called cross hairs, you can turn them on by going to Page Setup, Click Grid Settings, Then there will be an option that says "Cross Hairs". I hope that helps! 😊

When I overlap, I get that overlap bar showing in my fabric after I sub, how do I avoid that?

Do you have the design overlapping itself? You will want to make sure the designs just touch each other and are not overlapping too much or it may appear darker where they are touching causing a line. ❤️

Question: the repositionable spray you mentioned, can I get it from Amazon?

I believe so, but it's been harder to find lately. Loctite also makes a repositionable spray that I recently found at Michaels craft store. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Ida! Do you mean the crosshairs? It is under the Page Setup panel, the second icon at the top where your grid settings are. Or I think you can type "H" as a shortcut. It's a feature of the Designer Edition upgrade. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Does anyone here have a problem with a line in their sublimation design after you piece it together and do the transfer? You can see where I pieced it together. argh. tips anyone?

Hi! This is as Becky mentioned a workaround if you don't have a large format printer, and it can be tricky to get a hold of it for the first few prints. But good to follow Becky's advice to line up the design so it overlaps (no white lines) and press each section equally long. If you have a temporary ahesive spray that was also a tip shared by Becky (at 13:40). Hope it helps!
