Peggy Holds a degree in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising. As a mother to four sons, Peggy spends her time divided between teaching and creating new patterns for Silhouette Patterns, a line of contemporary patterns available to the home sewer. During her career she has taught college courses in pattern drafting and design. She professionally drafts patterns for individuals and manufacturers all across the country ranging from golf apparel to black tie performances. In addition to apparel designs, Peggy has designed the patterns of the costumes worn by the Mens Olympic Figure Skating Gold Medalist, Elvis Stojko.

I’m going to keep this pattern in mind for when I come across a beautiful 1 yard remnant. Or when I find a beautiful but pricey fabric. I can combine with a more affordable fabric for the under layers/sleeves.

The 5 thread does a chain stitch for the seam & overcast edge at the same time

It was nice enough, 10-20mph north wind! Why don’t you back stitch ? When I took home ec . (100yrs ago), we were told to pull the threads to one side then tie a knot at the point of the dart. Also, have you ever used banroll for a rolled or very narrow hem on light weight fabrics? I can never get my rolled hem foot to work correctly.

The dart tip can become very heavy when back stitched. But your call. I prefer to tie the ends.
