They have loads of technology at there school. Just because it's not electric doesn't mean it's not technology. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. Windows, pencils, paper and clothes are all products of technology. It should say no electric appliances not technology.

The reason this is good is because at public schools now, there is no (or minimal) real learning of real world issues, like problem solving skills. It's all about memorization of near meaningless or useless facts and information students will never use, and standardized testing to see if they remembered it.

Of course, there's still technology. Ballpoint pens, for example, is a product of technology. Without technology, these kids would still be writing using quills. Paper is also a product of technology. Without technology, these kids would be carving notes in wood or stone. The schools limits the use of electronics but not necessarily technology.

One little thing this 52 yr old guy has noticed, is younger people, who grew up with computers, not fully developing full ten finger typing skill. They developed hunt and peck, index/middle finger habits, which they inefficiently get by with. And anything with spell check and calculators is cheating. The ability to master Algebra has suffered since my generation in the 1980s - due to calculator availability - with kids not getting single-digit multiplication into deep memory; where it needs to be instantly recalled. . . . as smart as this set of parents are, they're probably onto something there.

It's because they know blue light and RF from these devices will harm their children...

I don't think a school should be 100% digital. I don't think that School should be digital free. I think what needs to happen is that digital technology should be used along side the standard curriculum. there needs to be a balance, in other words.

The argument that your kids should have the exact same experience that you did in school is complete nonsense.

lotto I wouldn’t my child does show jumping and I would never give her electronics never she will get them when she’s 20 or 19 and if you had electronics you’d forget the course and there would be loss of focus and social skills and also I own horses so she’d loose focus on taking care of her horses and focusing on them and training on her lessons.

Soon or later, all jobs will require technology. The school is just not ready to show it to them yet because their brain hasn't fully developed.

That's very conservative school. As a fact, Waldorf schools also don't teach letters and reading until 3rd grade.

Really, I'm very interested in what they are doing. I don't understand that one, but I'm sure there is a reason, because they have to sell that.

Is lame when you see a child with a laptop at the restaurant. Just because the parent wants the child to be quiet. Instead of sharing time with their kid.

As far as I know, dum dum, there still is a choice: mac or pc. Android or iPhone. Tech or no tech. Believe it or not, you can live without a cell phone, people did it for 200,000 years

And, yeah, I would be bored without my smartphone with which I just posted this. But I have had a dead phone and just looked at the stars....when was the last time you did that? I grew up in the best generation ever, late gen-x or the now non-mentioned gen-y. Born in '80, I'm not a millenial, I grew up chasing down the phone before answering machines were invented, yet I saw the internet grow as I was a teenager onward. I have the best of both worlds, you have only tech(if you're younger than me). I grew up eating worms then my mom would say "Don't eat that!" (God rest her soul) . But I also saw the internet and cell phones come around, so I know about both. I'm gonna sound like a salty old man but I remember the good old days when you had to talk to people face to face to make friends...how many friends do you have now that you can have dinner with that don't have their phones in their face instead of paying attention to what you have to say?
