First attempt at a one part mold, I thought it was gonna be a complete flop but it actually turned out well XD Can't wait to get these all painted.
I used a silicone mold making rubber. I bought mine from ebay.

@@KoochiWoochiKrafts well, here I tried, there must be something they hide in the instructions "may loose a limb or ear or something" as I demolded it, my little guy lost her ear, broke off .. I feel like laughing about it but feel sorry hahaha

How clever to make your own tails! Love it! love how you use what you have to make what you need instead of getting all upset that you don’t have what you need. Not only are you adorable, sweet and clever, you are very creative as well. Just a quick tip, draw around the piece you are making the mould of on the base of the box, then contract the box. That way you can freely get into the box to ensure it’s sealed. Then glue your model in last. Raw rice is good For measuring also! It’s also best to make the box fit closer around the model so that you use less silicone and it will make removing the model from the mould so much easier. You can also dust your mould in talc which will help pull the silicone into small parts of the mould. To prevent bubbles under the chin, I’d coat the inside of the mould with a layer of resin first. Tilt it around and the tap it on the table. Hope this helps. Xx

One common trick to determine mold volume is using rice rather than water (which must be thoroughly dried) or sand (which can be difficult to clean).

I have a quander could you use pieces of the old mold cut up to take up some of the room in the new mold so it doesn't take so much silicone thus saving money?

Glad it was helpful! I just use acrylic craft paint , I let the first layer dry fuller and it gives the other layers something to grab onto , the first layer will look awful though

So you did not put any lubricant or mold release on your original you molded? As well you didn't use any mold release when pouring your resin copy?

I did not use it on my original , but I spray it just before I pour a resin casting.

It’s amazing it’s called a surgical prong or surgical retractor , you can get them on eBay 😂 I wish you luck on demolding that

Question! I accidentally bought plastilina instead of clay that can harden. It is non sulfur, can i still use silicone to make the mold? Thanks in advance. ❤ your video was super informative on the mold making process

Yep! As long as there's no sulfer, you're good to use silicone
