Yo! Mark my words…….. We will ALL be paying to see Julia perform one day not to far from now. Here groove is sick, her ability to lock-in is outstanding and her discipline to learn when it’s appropriate to speak loudly and when to whisper in her phrasing is something some bassist are still learning to mature in. A misplaced nasty lick doesn’t hit the same as that same nasty lick would when spoken at the right time. If you know, you know. I’ve been a bassist (off and on) for 32 years and she tightens me up every time I hear her play. Julia, if you read this comment, my hat is off to you. Keep practicing, developing your own unique playing style and combine it with the theory (or your own variation of theory). I look forward to continuing to watch you grow and can’t wait to see your opportunity to share your gift with the world (touring/headlining/session work).
