He got past standup, and created sitdown comedy. Way ahead of everyone.

OMG Saturday Nights in the 70's kicked ass for a kid. SNL followed by Dave Allen followed by Monty Python. Pure Magic.

He was the best. No- one has ever come close. He was the whole package. Brain the size of a planet, funniest man ever lived, all wrapped up in a man more handsome than most film stars. Never see his like again. We still love you Dave. ❤️

I'm Aussie, and it's guys like this that show me how much the Irish have influenced our culture. We are very much a British 'soup' so-to-speak, but the Irish definitely had a huge impact on our culture, and, as I said, it's guys like Allen who who just show how much the Irish impacted on the Australian accent and cultural mindset. And it remains to this day.

Always dressed smartly unlike the bland, unisexless oxymorons of today .

Hahahaha! Amazing, handsome and funny guy. He was funny because most of the things he said were true with added humour.

A creative genius. Funny and clean. I miss his style and wit. Irreplaceable.
