I tore my silnylon tarp, and make the repair. It’s ugly but it worked. Check out clayonthetrail.com for my videos, trails and info about me. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this mate, same thing happened to me with exactly the same shape tear only a little bigger. Weird triangle. Mine happened as the winds got way worse than the forecast and launched some green wood into the side of my tarp. Strange how all tarp holes seem to be triangles.

I have since started carrying “tenacious tape” that does a neater repair, but this method lasts forever

I hope it works out well. I was surprised at how well it appears to seal up as just a liquid coating.

I wasn’t sure how well it would work but hoped it could be done without more material or sewing. Time will tell , so far so good!

@@Clayonthetrail Still holding after use, especially in wet conditions causing the silnylon to sag?

I’ve been rained on, and last week got over an inch of snow and it held up perfectly

I think I’m going to sew a patch and seam seal it.

That will work great. Also gear tape nowadays works wonders too, just make sure it’s round and it will stay for a long time
