From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, Tiny Desk is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with an "El Tiny" takeover of the (home) concert series, featuring J Balvin, Camila Cabello and several more musicians from all corners of Latinidad.

Silvana Estrada's angelic first note strikes, and for a moment her family's instrument workshop in Veracruz, Mexico, feels like a window to the heavens themselves.
Adorned in a white dress and a radiant smile, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist invites us to participate in a rich and varied expression of familial love and musical brilliance. She wastes no time entrancing her audience, using a stripped-down performance of "Un Día Cualquiera" - accompanied by nothing but soft claps and subtle harmonies - to showcase her impeccable vocal precision and range.
After a sweet "Bienvenidos," Estrada picks up the Venezuelan cuatro - her most beloved magic-making tool - and jumps into a sublimely arranged, effortlessly enchanting rendition of "Tristeza." Then, halfway through "Te Guardo," something extraordinary happens: the sound of stringed instruments comes out of nowhere, and as Estrada steps away from her microphone, the camera follows, exposing a string quartet set up just off screen. After that moving reveal, Estrada takes a seat and begins to perform "Marchita," where strings, cuatro, and voice marry in indiscernible harmony.
Shifting scenes once again, Estrada moves outside and we meet her papa, armed with a double bass. Father and daughter conjure a musical manifestation of pure love with a stunning performance of "Tonada De Ordeño [El Ordeñador]." Though the traditional Venezuelan tune is a longtime favorite, this performance is different. A butterfly takes a seat on Silvana's mic and the camera zooms out to reveal the other instrumentalists in the workshop looking on in knowing admiration. Silvana's voice reverberates across the Veracruz hillside and the world exhales, basking in a fleeting moment of divinity on earth.

Silvana's songs usually speak of loves, breakups and overcoming, all written by her, always accompanied by her instrument a four Venezuelan (cuatro venezolano) , touches the soul, sings from the heart, lives and feels the music at her young age, she is amazing🙌🏼

17:35 ve la mariposa en el micrófono, se ríe, se vuelve una nena de 5 años, se la muestra a su papá y empieza a cantar desde el alma. La mariposa percibe, le da unas vueltas en agradecimiento y vuelve al micrófono a contemplar. Hermoso ♥

¿Alguien más también emocionadx hasta las lágrimas? Este tiny desk de Silvanita te conmueve el alma, corazón y vida. I have just re-listened to this/ watched this 3 TIMES.... It truly has something for everyone: Soulful singing, poetry, incredible string arrangements, glistening cuatro, percussive elements PLUS an incredible setting, amazing camera work + the hanging instruments draw you into the music further. Acabo de presenciarle a Silvana Estrada da un concierto increible en Pittsburgh, Pensilvania, EEUU. Me quede atonito. Le agradezco mucho a ella por haber venido a mi ciudad y compartir su don incomparable. Nunca olvidare' su presencia, su voz y su maestria con mantener el compas y la melodia con su instrumento de cuerdas.

Desde Caracas, Venezuela, reciban nuestras palabras de agradecimiento por haber incluido en ese hermoso y especial Tiny Desk, un tema musical compuesto por el maestro venezolano Antonio Estévez (1916-1988), quien a mediados de 1955 la dio a conocer como "El Ordeñador", y años después, la tituló como "Canto de Ordeño", bella "tonada de ordeño" venezolana, inspirada en la esforzada faena del arreo y ordeño que durante incontables décadas han realizado los hombres y mujeres dedicados a ese duro trabajo, principalmente en la región llanera de Venezuela. Esta valiosa pieza, con esmerado arreglo del citado músico nacido en Calabozo, estado Guárico, Venezuela, fue popularizada por el recordado Tío Simón (1928-2014), quien, con su particular estilo musical la dio a conocer, con sobrado éxito, en los principales escenarios del ámbito musical nacional e internacional.. !Felicitaciones, por tan grata sorpresa! y por llevar a cabo un encuentro tan íntimo con la canta-autora mexicana Silvana Estrada, dejando muy claro que en esta hermosa pieza audiovisual, se logró un altísimo nivel musical por parte, no solo de sus productores, sino, de todos los músicos que allí participaron. He escuchado diversas versiones de estas canciones, todas cantadas por Silvana, y aun así cada versión nueva tiene esa magia suya que me sorprende, me conmueve y hace que se me enchine la piel. This tiny desk is magically profound. I don´t know how else to describe it. I saw it was Silvana´s Tiny desk and was so excited but it just completely blew my mind. Te descubrí en un momento muy difícil de mi vida. Y te escuchaba (haciéndolo de costumbre) todas las noches antes de proponerme a dormir. Tus letras, melodía tocan al corazón Silvana y sin duda muchas me han sacado del hoyo.
