The biggest thing I wanna see in this sequel is new coaster elements. I always wanna build coasters with moving loading stations, duel loading stations, switch tracks, drop tracks, separate load and unload stations, multi-pass launches, etc.

Got to agree with your conclusion. The way they show of the waterpark stuff, to me, it feels more like a water park expansion compared to an actual new title.

The big thing with a numbered sequel though is the opportunity for a clean break from old file formats. No need to support backwards compatibility, which might enable improved pathing systems and other stuff we've seen like resizable scenery items. I'd much rather improvements to the backend + water parks than just a water park expansion.

I disagree with the final thoughts. The entire point of a sequel is to improve and build upon the first game with new features that weren't within the previous scope, and that's exactly what they've done. Just the announcements they've made so far required redesigns of the paths, terrain, and water tools, new pathing and guest AI, new weather and lighting engines; and improvements for the new features they experimented with in Zoo. So what would, in your minds, actually count as a sequel?

@@taal223 i have to say with the art style so defined it is hard to make it new and shiny graphically. New rides and assets could have been added to the predecessor. It all depends whats under the hood that could define, for me, what counts as a sequel.

Some more takeaways ive noticed, mainly in the key art: -food truck vendors -noticed a big focus on kites, maybe at shops like balloons or a special attraction? -in the background of the key art in the right side you can see a giant Neptune or Poseidon statue. Almost definitely that mythology theme. Biggest thing i would want from this is for it to be a bit more of a mix of planco 1 and planzoo. ie, let people make seaworld, with both coasters, water Park elements (really hoping for a rapids ride) and of course aquatic life exhibits

I'm a little disappointed by the scenery options so far. We only get these really generic boring themes to start with? I don't like mythology that much... I feel like all the themes from PlanCo 1 should be ported. I can already tell they are gonna charge for scenery packs immediately after launch.

@@ChasterProductionsthing is though, assuming planet coaster 2 is also being released on Steam, any lack of themes or decor is going to almost immediately be rectified by the workshop. And if they really improve and streamline the decoration building options and controls, it wouldn’t be super difficult to really get creative with it

Definitely excited but the trailer felt more like a water park expansion than a new game. I felt like there were so many rollercoaster aspects which we all wanted added such as switch tracks, transfer tracks, and separate loading stations, but I kinda felt like there weren’t many improvements to the rollercoasters at all ? (Hopefully this isn’t the case and they release more information at a later date)

My main hope is that they improve the rating system for rollercoasters. If you recreate a real coaster into Planco, you'ld almost always get a bad rating.

it's been confirmed we are getting animated coaster track sections but not sure as to which coasters. Plus loads of missed info about the customizable coaster trains and adding scenery and textures to the cars too.

Man I hope the water effects are affected by lighting now. Or at least a separate set of fountain particle effects that are lit at night. We need fountain shows! 😃

I really hope they've redesigned the rollercoaster engine to enable quasi-shuttle options. This will enable people to build rides like Hagrids, which will enable so many more options for layout designs!!

The ability to make shuttle coasters would solve my biggest complaint of PlanCo 1. I really hope they make it work.

I can't wait for this! My main hope for the game is that it's far easier to build than in PlanCo or PlanZoo. Those games were great for detailers who had hours of time to dedicate to one building, but everyone I know irl including myself found it so difficult to get anything looking good/anything other than generic within a single play session, like what was possible in RCT3 (realistically, due to the simpler grid system)

I hope they add the 'snap' feature from PlanZoo. This helped a lot with building. Scaling tools and blueprints should help too.

I want a click and drag feature for walls instead of having to click a million times to make a building. Similar to how The Sims 4 does it. So much less tedious

I don't think we need to be cautiously optimistic as you said Silv. The information extracted from the announcement trailer really is completely what the community has asked for as upgrades to Planet Coaster. And this is just the information that we're being teased with. What else have they added? VR? Real-time park visitors? Link my park and guests to Planet Zoo? I'm so excited :D

Yes, finally I can move on form RTC3, I still miss one thing from Roller Coaster 3 and before, make custom peep families and follow their experiences. So funny to model my friends and family and see how they interacts with the rides

What I wish they would do is make Planet coaster 2 and add Planet Zoo 2 inside of it and call it Planet Theme Park, or something similar. Could you all imagine combining Planet zoo, planet coaster 2 and the water expansions inside of one game and simply focusing on dlc for one game so all of the creative effort goes into one title. That would be amazing; but I get it. They can make more money with multiple titles. But I think planet coaster 2 should have zoo dlc and dinosaur dlc and also pirate dlc. Whose with me??

I've been playing a ton of Prehistoric Kingdom lately and the build system in that lets you scale every piece. It's such a gamechanger for building, I can't wait to see what you're going to do with it.

I also hope we can customize animatronics like we could our avatar character on the main screen. It would make the system so much better than having a bunch of separate animatronics as scenery.

Totally agree with you on the slide automatically generated supports. I'm very used to tuening off auto gen supports on coasters and just creating my own. Hope we'll be able to do that on slides. Great breakdown Silvarret! 👌🏻

I agree on management and I hope we get realistic options such as parking, testing the park in the morning, see the visitors coming in the morning and leaving in the evening and then skip through part of the night. And a financial overview at the end of the day. That would add a lot in terms of the park feeling alive.

I am so excited for this! I read there will be new customizable animatronic shows, which seems cool. I am still really hoping for more smaller entertainment such as a full array of arcade games as smaller functional entertainment buildings. It also would've been cool to get new small activities to add throughout such as a small photo booth for guests to take photos, but idk if that is even possible to implement. Either way, exciting!

This is so insane! Ever since the release of Planco 1, I've been enjoying every DLC that they dropped. I've always wondered about water rides, and even though they have like 4 or 5 boat rides, they don't feel the same. Furthermore, having to make your own body of water by digging a hole in the ground and then filling it with water, which basically never looks good in your park, I'm so happy that Frontier is gonna be adding a new way to make pools/bodies of water. Can't wait for Planco 2. Never thought this would ever happen.

Im hoping PlanCo2 will have zoo features in it too (very unlikely as it would defeat the purpose of planet zoo) but i would love to have animal exhibits in my parks Another thing i would like is theaters and stadiums, it was something I’ve tried to do in PlanCo but was nearly impossible to do correctly Im also hoping parking lots will be a thing too and also a fencing system

My personal biggest worry is game optimization. The first game, you couldn’t truly build the park of your dreams with a realistic amount of guests because no system could handle it. You could never have a park the size of cedar point or Disney and have the same amount of guests (20-50k) because your system couldn’t handle it. And that was just crushing to me because every time you built you knew there was a limit to the “simulation” experience. There’s hope with this one though, with it being likely built on dx12 and releasing on consoles day 1, they must have a lot of confidence in optimization this time

All of this sounds amazing! I'd love a tool like a slider to pull a ghost train along a coaster I'm building. This would help with timing of events but moreso would be helpful with checking forces without having to leave the build mode

Two details I noticed: - I think there will definitely be some Classical theme, as you can see a Poseidon statue in the key art on the right 16:45 - The beach buggy on the roof at 13:18 could be an easter egg/reference to the James Hunt cheat code in RCT3, which spawned a beach buggy you could ride around the park :)

3:17 You mean flanges, and yeah that's my main grip so far! Also nerdy fact, but open flumes are not as flexible in layout design that closed tubes. Open flume often have a set decline rate and you cannot diverge from that (but there are straight drop pieces - or if really needed you can cast a unique mold for a custom section), whereas closed tubes can be rotated along their flanges to produce curved drops and different steepness. That process is called dialing. 9:58 It's the Zamperla Zetta swing, which makes me think they partnered with Zampi on that game. That and the Gryphon are pretty new Zamperla products... OMG SCALING SCENERY PIECES! YESSSS!! 10:38 Things you can do with attaching scenery on a flat ride: build your entire park attached to a tea cup so it rotates lol

Looks amazing, thank you for the analysis! Great the sequencers are coming back, but for me they need a HUGE UI/UX upgrade. The PlanCo 1 sequencer was super tedious and exhausting to use. Here i would hope for a more RCT3 like fireworks show editor. The new scenery options sounds great and I think they don't need to add separate colourable and non-colourable elements with just a "orignal" or "natural" color option. Here I also hope for a better rotating tool than in PlanCo 1. Really looking forward to the stream on July 31st

I bought planet coaster on release, opened it and pretty much discovered there was no management involved, the campaign was lacklustre and the construction was clumsy and slow. So I ended up playing Parkitect instead. If they can show that there is more management and strategy involved and that that building is easier I may be convinced. But for now I''m sceptical.

to me the only thing planco needed was continuous rolling on the coaster builder, if that IS taken care of like you said with the smoothing, i am very excited, and anything extra is a huge huge plus!! very hyped, thanks for the analysis

I wish we could get a modern inamin blitz, like toutatis, pantheon and velocicoaster. And importing custom train models would be nice too, sorta how you would do it in NL2.

I have to agree with you on this. I remember watching your stuff back when we were all in the early access days of Planet Coaster 1, and honestly at the moment this just feels like RCT 3: Soaked (Planet Coaster edition). I haven't seen anything yet that really feels like this is a true sequel vs just being an expansion. Like, the visuals still look like Planet Coaster 1 and I don't feel like there's been that much improvement in that area... and since they didn't show much of anything else off to us, it's honestly kind of hard to be as hyped as I want to be. I mean, I'm still really excited for it, but not as excited as I thought I'd be for a Planet Coaster 2 announcement.

I also hope that by showcasing hotels that they explore that and restaurants more. It was good to have it in PC1 but decorating it made no sense since it was just a single box guests entered. I'd love to see dynamic open restaurants that we could customize the actual layout, add amenities, manage employees / menus, etc

It looks like the way restraints lock down on guests is different in the opening shot of the dive coaster the restraints had different highlights that they were locked to this would be a nice touch of realism

I really really hope they revamped the smoothing system so we can all make buttery smooth coasters faster and focus more on making them look amazing, especially since we can decorate them fully

The most important thing for PlanCo2 is to fix the actual game engine to only render what can be seen. If something is underground or hidden inside a built object there is no reason to waste processor power to render that since it won't be seen in the final product.

A perfect example is the emergency sidewalk paths in Jagerhorn. You used the bottom of a statue upside down and buried the statue in the ground so you could only see the bottom as your "sidewalk". But yet the actual game was rendering every statue even though it could not be seen in the final view.

Very excited! Any word whether we can import planco 1 parks to 2? I’ve been working on a park for a few years now. Do I want to start over? No. Will I for Planet Coaster 2? YES!

My guess for the water coaster might be something like Wildebeest at Holiday World, so an inner tube water slide with fast uphill sections. I hear people use the term interchangeably with Mack's water coaster model so who knows, but I'm more leaning towards the former since we already have Mack style water coasters in the first game

In regards to recolourability of scenery objects. I wonder if they could make it so that everything is recolourable, but that there are a set few realistic colour patterns. This just gives those that want to experiment with wacky things the tools to do so. Kinda how everything was made out of a chimney in the really early days of Planet Coaster 1.

I just hope we get most of the flat rides we already had, especially in base game, for this new version. Where is the carousel? More traditional Ferris wheel? Bumper cars? Parks need to have these classics.

Hopefully other trailers will be coming. I really hope they make it so we can make true shuttle loop coasters with trains that launch out of the station

I'm also curious to see how the collision detection works or whether we'll have to work with barriers again...😊 Unfortunately, there's no real multiplayer to build a park at the same time. That would have been a game changer🎉!! And I would have expected the Western and Pirate themes to be standard. But I'm already looking forward to some great parks from you🤩

So cool I hope they add a guest walk around mode I know they have the guest but it would be cool just to be able to walk around as your own guest 😊

I'm alright and very happy with what they have already said personaly ! I just hope they add special track elements such as drop tracks / switch tracks and what not. But overall i'm like everybody, happy but careful about what eventually will come out.
