Full Tour of a 1 Bedroom Villa at the Silver Cove Retreat on Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Lines Private Island in the Bahamas. This was made during our stop while cruising on the Norwegian Cruise Lines Sky. This is part of several videos we will be doing on the NCL Sky including a day visit to Sandals Royal Bahamian, a ship review and a balcony tour.

Miss steps and internet clicks happen all the time, but what a nice surprise when viewing your Silver Cove experience. Great presentation! I just happened to book a Villa for GSC last day of our cruise for December 2023 for our 25th wedding anniversary; we are on the NCL Sky 12/01/23 cruise. We have been to the island a number of times over the years and this of course will be our first time experiencing the Villas. In the past, my mother had always told me, it is just as important to at least do something special for yourself, because waiting for someone else to do it for you is pure fantasy in the making.

I have a bit of “New Yorker” in my real voice lol. It’s not cheap but a great experience. Bring your toiletries and enjoy a real shower and bathroom on a cruise!

This completely blows away the chill island cabanas on Coco cay which are virtually the same price. Loving the content.

i was on this cruise 2/12 2/19 and the ship did not stop because the sea was too rough, they said. they do not stop more then they do stop. priority disembarkation is worthless if they don't stop

Thank you for the videos and information. We are looking forward to possibly doing this on our December 2024 cruise. Just to clarify, though, the open-air "classic" cabanas are listed on the app right now as being $549, the newest (but also open-air) "premier cabanas" are listed at $599, the air conditioned "lagoon villas" are $899, and the air conditioned "Lagoon 1 bedroom villa" is listed at $999. I am currently seeing those prices 280 days out.

Your choice. You don't make the money to afford that kind of luxury. Neither do I. If I made around 3 times my current salary I'd definitely do it. Silver Cove is for either those willing to swipe cards and build debt or people well off enough to afford it. Or those retired who saved up for it. That's why the rest of us go for the Cabanas!

Our last cruise we went to GSC. We love it there. We usually get the studio villa. Plenty of room. If you have the premium plus beverage pkg your choices are unlimited. We just ask them to bring whatever! Never . disappointed! Last stop there we were not impressed with the food, found it to be "ok" nothing special. Big plus as you mentioned is the bathroom and shower. Since they built the villas, we always rent one for the day. Well worth the money. Being a little further away in the studio, just call and they send a golf cart for you and drive you to the buffet area.

We enjoyed the food but it’s pretty much your basic BBQ. And agree, it’s well worth the money. Next time we are there, we will see if we can get some others to “chip in”. Thanks for watching!!!

We have a studio booked for our upcoming trip on Aug 12. I paid $449 after using the $50 shore excursion credit we got with the Free at Sea deal. After watching this..really glad we did.

They seem to have changed the pricing. I was looking into this and they charge per person now? So for the two of us it would be $1048 with $50 excursion credit :(

Sorry for the false alarm ... it was a website thing (and user error). It was tagging both of us (so essentially trying to book two villas) ... All good, I just needed to select one person and then got it for the expected price (less excursion credit) 🙂

Hi ... Enjoined your video. I know it has been a year since you posted your video. Before i book, I just wanted to ask again. the ocen side villa waters are rougher than Lagoon villa waters. If you are staying at the lagoon side can you go to the ocean side waters. Also can you leave the villa to do actives or go get food from the taco bar or food truck. Thanks & Happy New year

Apreciated the video. My wife and I are going to GSC in Jan. Villa looks nice, but overkill for one couple. Have you ever heard of couples willing to share with other couples? Ass you said, $1000 for one couple seems extreme, but would be a bargain when shared with two other couples.

Guys - where are the Ocean View Villas vs the Lagoon view Villas? None of the NCL maps are really specific in where the geographic difference is on these villas? I have 7 coming in a cruise this summer and will do it for the group. Looking forward to it.

They are very close to each other. There should be a map posted online somewhere. It will be great with a group.

RCL will probably copy it in the near future. I know they're supposedly starting their adults only beach area, Hideaway Beach, soon. And then the Royal Beach Club at Nassau is going to be crazy. No other line will have two private islands that close to Florida. However, they seem to be focusing on the family experience more than the luxury experience even with all they offer. Love this area. If I could afford it or had 7 friends to go in on it...roughly $140 a person for 7 people wouldn't be bad at all. Less than the price of a good hotel room in some cities in the US. Now for NCL to work on its current pricing insanity. Gratuities (Service Fees) going up. Hopefully prices mellow in the next couple of years.

Omg! Thank you! Since the reservation is under 1 guest name, do you know if they give priority tender boat access to all the guests who will be in that villa? I booked the 2 bedroom villa for 16 people, and have 14 guests.

We (a family of 16) have booked a 2 bedroom lagoon villa for $1,299 for July 2024. With priority tendering, how much of a time difference does that end up being in getting from the ship to the island? I have heard those without priority tendering have to wait around 2 hours trying to get off the ship. Also, how much of an upcharge is the Money and Chandon Bar if you have the drink package?

We enjoyed the Lagoon Villa so much we never made it over to the Ocean one so I can’t say for sure. The villas themselves are the same though.

Thanks for the review. Been to Great Stirrup Cay many times. Never felt the need to rent a cabana or villa. If I were spending the day with a large group of people the Villa might be nice. Other wise I don't think it would be for me. (Did experience NCL's "suite life" once and it was great.

Tough question. The lagoon was nice and there were kids there when we went. Honestly it has a kind of adult all inclusive vibe though. That said, I could see kids having a great time.

All I have to say is that you are correct - the floating cabanas at the private area of Royal Caribbean don't hold a candle to these - they are open air no rest room - they are very nice and they throw in filet and lobster, lots of snacks etc. but we have paid between $2400.00 and our trip in September cost $3499.00 - OUCH ! So to answer your question HE*L YES it's worth the money for a quality villa like this and I would pay a grand in a heart beat for my wife and myself to get this room - again see above for what the two of us paid for the cabana at RCCL private island.

It’s total cost for the Villa, making it a pretty good value if you have a group. I believe the max is 10’allowed per villa.

We are booked in 2 villas for 22 of us in Jan. Isn't there over water swings as well and another bar outside not just Moet? You showed the buffet but it didn't look like it had many options at all. I was told their was lobster, shrimp and even you said it was wonderful. I 'm a foodie and would you say a trip to the food options outside of Silver Cove area is also worth it? Can you get a pina colada or daiquiri delivered to the beach or villa? Thank you!

If they stop once every 10 cruises. they will say the seas are too rough to keep you on the ship. Priority board is a waste of money. they did not honor ours on disembarkation at Miami, leaving us with the tour group that we paid for a Miami tour that took us to the airport, and did not refund us for the tranfer fee they charged us before the cruise. unlikely you will stop at this island. they need to develop a dock to park the ship

Unfortunately I am hearing more and more of these stories with poor customer service, particularly with refund of fees. We had some issues on our last sailing on the Breakaway. Working on that video now. Thanks for your feedback.
