La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
My cherie amour, lovely as a summer day
My cherie amour, distant as the milky way
My cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine
In a cafe or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you, but you never noticed me
My cherie amour, won't you tell me how could you ignore
That behind that little smile I wore
How I wish that you were mine
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
Maybe someday, you'll see my face among the crowd
Maybe someday, I'll share your little distant cloud
Oh, cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la

My god I completely forgot how good this movie was. I think I was too young and naive to fully enjoy it when it came out originally. This essay makes me want to revisit it now that i've matured more.

I get this movie and I’m not even bipolar, that’s how good it is, I relate to Pat cuz I question things around me everyday, as well as feeling like people are weird about feelings

I was a stand up when this came out. I did 7mins on how only super hot bipolar people can find happiness lol. I still stand by that.

Neither of them are super hot. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence look like regular people.

Being born and raised in Philly and a die hard Eagles fan with bipolar this movie hit every nerve in my body when it came out.

I loved this movie so much even though I already knew every line beforehand because the screenplay was assigned during my text analysis class. Seeing what Cooper, Lawrence and especially De Niro were able to bring to these characters was a real treat.

Rented this movie last night and watched for the first time. Wow - thanks for uploading this. I would've never watched it otherwise and now it's one of my favorites.

I have bipolar 1 with psychotic features and man that scene with the book and the video tape scene is actually what an untreated agitated manic episode looks like for me. There have been so many times where I was looking for something thats not even that important and I got so angry that I broke stuff and literally yelling to myself for hours straight alone in my house. I got so angry in a manic episode one time that my vision started into black and I almost passed out. I am very lucky because this was during the covid lockdown and I lived alone. Having people around for that would have absolutely made it worse and maybe even more frequent.

Add being robbed to the scenario by a ghetto neighborhood and a dipshit dad with dementia living with you and you got the perfect stew for an episode all the god damn motherfucking time....

Thank you for making this essay! I haven’t seen this in years but I used to love it, and it was kinda a guilty pleasure because when it released my friends and I felt like these actors were in every movie we watched. But I always really liked it because I related to the characters, since I also had a lot of mental health issues and episodes.

Great essay! Hope it does well in the algorithm in spite of not being strapped to a big currently trending IP. There are a lot of great films to talk about that are not this week's Disney...

I had a crazy shrink misdiagnose me with bipolar disorder. Turns out she was the one with it! She had a psychotic break in front of me. It took 3 months for a 'sane' doctor to wean me off all the antipsychotics etc. Now I have night seizures.

It's been a while since I've seen this movie, but the one thing that stood out was that Lawrence's character basically lied, manipulated, and gaslit Cooper's character into falling in love with her, even getting his family in on it. And when she is found out, she doesn't even apologize, he apologizes to her. Flip the genders around and you telling me Cooper wouldn't be seen as a villain? But she's attractive so I guess that makes it ok.

A lot of people I know hate this because they feel that the ending implies that love cured their mental illness, which like, what? That’s projecting or something because I didn’t get that at all

I really dislike this film and how it's yet another film centered in a man and everything seen through his eyes and it's all dedicated to fixing him even when he doesn't deserve it.
@shukuala9502
@shukuala9502 Жыл бұрын
That's a horrible way to look at it. The point of the movie is, everyone deserves to be fixed. Tiffany fixed pat. But Pat fixed Tiffany too. They helped each other. No matter what happened, pat deserves a second chance. So does Tiffany. So does everyone else. That's the point.
