When we were there in the early 90s, the guide told us Tarzan was filmed there, and the monkeys used in the show got loose and they are the descendants. Great place to tour.

Fun fact the Six Gun Territory theme park was right beside Silver Springs. It's now a strip mall named Six Gun Plaza. Six Gun Territory was the sister park to Ghost Town in the Sky. Also firetruck manufacturer E-One in Ocala has factory tours. Not sure if they allow photos/video.

Thank you for this video. it reminded me of my first visit to FL with my grandparents in 71. I was 7. We visited all the spots you stopped at. I haven't been back to Silvers Springs since then. Back then, they would give you bread to feed the fish. I did see some monkeys on my boat ride. My teachers in school told us that they also filmed some early Tarzan movies there and for a while would show off a mechanical alligator from the film as part of the tour.

I remember going to Silver Springs with my family back in 2004 when we went to WDW. That's back when it was more of a zoo-like theme park (I still have a little plastic frog I bought from there), and it was so weird and a little bit spooky watching AdamTheWoo's video from 2013 and seeing it all abandoned. Glad they've continued the old glass-bottom boats!

This was great about Silver Springs! My parents tool me there in the 60s. There were huge catfish in the springs. I'm talking 4 to 5 feet fish! I do remember seeing lots of monkeys and them swinging and screeching! I do remember being scared of them. I think the tour guide said that they would swing from the trees and land on the boats sometimes! Great memories of going to Florida with my parents every year! Take care and enjoy your trip❤

I have seen you show some of your traveling supplies and heard you mention sticky hands from your oranges. It got me thinking, I don't ever see you with baby wipes! Life hack, not just for babies. Ever since my kids were young, I always have baby wipes. Fishing, camping, eating fast food, any sort of messy situation, they are the best thing to have. Just thought I would share this helpful life hack I picked up over the years. PS. don't waste money on expensive special wipes, cheap baby wipes work fine, and they will freeze in your car in colder climates. 🤘💙💀

I hope you can make it to Anna Maria Island area!! Highly recommend Rod and Reel restaurant on the pier! Sea Hag is a neat eclectic art display/shop. Lowry Park Zoo is an ABSOLUTE must- many Mold-O-Rama's if you have not been!! Busch Gardens is a top-notch amusement park that I don't recall you vlogging before. Sawgrass State Park is a blast, a self-guided tour on boardwalks overlooking some lakes and marshy areas through either a nature preserve or state park with some educational taxidermy displays and aquariums around the entrance. Homosassa Springs State Park is a beautiful experience with a lot of history and informative pieces- a highlight is a newspaper from when Steve Irwin and his wife Terri visited and filmed in the park!

The old spring site is now so stagnant that it's frequently declared unfit for humans to swim in. In Silver Springs, where the water was once so clear it was as if the fish swam through air, there are now goopy mats of algae so thick that alligators can perch atop them. Sad to see it this way.

Loved this video Carpetbagger! Great content as always! I went to Silver springs back in 2002 with a good friend of mine we rode that same style boat you were on. Back then there was a water park attached next door but I do believe that closed down? As the tour guide you had in your boat said there won’t ever be an attraction there or park just the springs the way it is, so that tells me it did close. I know you can’t record every second of the tour but I did remember our tour guide in my boat saying it was the filming location of James Bond movie “Thunderball” I believe that was Sean Connery. Also Lloyd bridges did a series called “sea hunt” was filmed there and as your boat guide mentioned “the creature from the black lagoon” was filmed there. Many old relics of all those movies still remain under water they show you in the tour. I would like to go back to update my memory Of the place and to see it again it’s been so long

I live part time in Wildwood but covid fears have kept me stuck in Indiana for the last two years. I haven't been to Silver Springs in years but am definitely going there now. Attractions I enjoy for day trips are Weeki Watchee and the mermaid show and Tarpon Springs and the delicious Greek food and sponge industry.

You should go visit Mount Dora. I love their downtown and their park by the lake. Also I went to silver springs in the early 2000s and they had so many more animals there when we went. In 2018 I brought my husband there and was very surprised by how much it had changed. Still love the place though, and my husband was very excited to see a wild alligator just chilling out near the sidewalk.
