I’m 37 in 2024. This shit hits different knowing we will never see this type of sound come around again. Still goes hard as fuck. Turns out, it wasn’t a phase.
36 and same. Today though I had my tween close thier eyes as I took them on a trip to the early 2000s. Played them some live music (some I recorded).

If it weren't for black people there wouldn't be a rock genre. 🤷 "Rock 'n' roll was influenced by a Deep South black music genre called the blues. 'It [rock 'n' roll] started out as rhythm and blues,' Little Richard told Time in 2001. 'There wasn't nobody playing it at the time but black people - myself, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry. White kids started paying more attention to this music, white girls were going over to this music, they needed somebody to come in there - like Elvis.'" www.google.com/amp/s/m.mic.com/articles/amp/136969/who-invented-rock-n-roll-these-are-the-black-pioneers-who-laid-the-genre-s-foundations

What a nostalgia. Good old myspace days. It's one of those songs that takes me back to years where I enjoyed life and felt alive. Now everything is very seedy and everything looks alike. This song belongs to the years when a lot of money and effort was put into songs and music videos. Today's songs and videos all look alike. It's all so simple, it's like they're all the same product.

This song hurts now. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of this song or band, but during the quarantine my best friend wanted me to make a playlist for her of songs she thought she would like. I used to listen to this when I was younger and her music taste would aline with this genre/sound. So I included it. She ended up playing it on repeat and fell in love. She even thanked me for showing her. I remember waking up half asleep and seeing her at her desk drawing and listening to this song quietly to not disturb me, but it was on repeat. She took her life a week after my birthday in 2020. I miss her so fucking much. This song just hits so differently now. I can’t believe it’s almost going to be a year I just really want her back

Slowly time passes by and creeps up on us from time to time. Now we understand what our folks were telling us about when they were listening to music and they thought that music was real music. Now we're telling our kids what real music is. Originality is where it comes from. Creativity is its place of origin but it has no beginning nor end. Because at that place in time you just have to live in the moment. Much love from an ex emo but maybe I'm still emo LOL. What's an emo always an emo.

If you told me when this song came out that 17 years later I would hear it live with Mike from TDWP during the breakdown, I would've laughed directly in your face. But here we are in 2022, one of the best concerts I've been to. Silverstein's glow up has been real
