These damned modern Doppelmayr D-Lines are too bloody excessive and they're the worst ropeway systems anywhere in the face of the universe. Cramped with tech that nobody has ever needed in something as simple as a means of transporting people up to the mountain in minutes, their modern city-like appearances are EXTREMELY inappropriate on the face of natural mountain landscapes, they ruin the meaning of a ski lift and they are all mechanically the same. The old ski lifts, this includes the old Valiserabahn, a Doppelmayr gondola of the first generation(and Doppelmayr's first 6-MGD), are all mechanically different as back in the 20th century there were lots of different individual ski lift manufacturers and the designs changed up very often in those days. The housings around them were very traditionally designed and were made to look alpine, a thing that the modern ski lifts lack entirely. The old ski lifts have no tech and digital crap in them either as thankfully in those times there wasn't such excessive and overly-obsessive technocratic un-alpine trash that only belongs in a capitol city and not a traditional special old-fashioned place. But now, being in sh*tty economical, monetary, technocratic and corporate times, only 5(possibly 4 now) ski lift manufacturers remain and they never change up the mechanical designs often at all and some of them are responsible for why there's only so few of ski lift manufacturers. Ever since the D-Line came along the modern ski lifts have become so much worse than just being characterless as now Doppelmayr are ramming occupancy sensors, speakers which say "Welcome to (whatever ski resort you are in)." and f*cking autonomous technology into the lifts that they produce, therefore they are taking away the specialities of the resorts as what makes them special is that they don't have things that people would expect in most places. Or at least they didn't until the D-Line ruined everything. It's becoming standards(expectations) to boring modern soulless people(which there are lots of, around this cruel f*cking world) as well and such standards are toxic as it means more and more old ski lifts are labeled as "obsolete" and are discriminated against just because they don't have all of the tech and other things that the sh*t modern scrap-heaps of lifts do. Therefore said Doppelmayr along with Leitner and possibly Poma(maybe even Bartholet, too...) as well have totally ruined the meaning of a ski lift. They've changed it from being a simple way to get up to the mountain, to all sorts of speedy modern mainstream tech being everywhere you go and that's what this sad uncreative un-inspirational corporate world of economical things tech and business are leading the whole bloody planet to. To summarize everything. Modern ski lifts are boring as they have no mechanical differences or uniqueness, they don't look alpine at all, they're cramped with digital futuristic tech, and they ruin the meaning of a ski lift and they've become way too overly obsessive and excessive. Whereas the old ski lifts, the PROPER ski lifts, are interesting because they are all different and the mechanics are more simple and they are much more nicely designed and interesting to look at than 99% of the filthy modern ones will ever be, they look TOTALLY ALPINE and integrate properly into alpine resorts, they have no tech in them and they really are all that anyone has ever needed to ascend to the slopes anyway. Bad idea scrapping old ski lifts and the old Valiserabahn and I highly recommend revolting against Doppelmayr, Leitner, Poma, Bartholet and especially the TUV and the Federal Transport Office of Switzerland (and every other of such corporate/governmental organizations) as they make all these sh*tty requirements and laws for when ski lifts have to be murdered and replaced by modern scrap heaps, as do I also recommend going to explosive shops and blowing up the modern ones as punishment for snatching such mechanical wonders of the world as old 20th-century ski lifts out of existence for no fair reason at all. The corporate monetary governmental tech world must be revolted against and punished as it belittles individual people and limits their freedoms to what they can and can't do on the will of corporate and federal organizations. The same thing has happened to ski lifts as what has happened to many other things around the world that were brilliant at one time. Their manufacturers went overly corporate, monopolized and shattered alot of other individual manufacturer's careers, and became empty shells of what they once were.

I have to say, I really enjoy how you can write such a massive comment of bullshit, without even realizing it… Just to summarize the content of your comment; You do not like the design of newer lifts, you do not care about the improved comfort and you are such a „nostalgic“ person that you don’t want to see old lifts getting replaced, because the diversity of manufactures and design of lifts is decreasing then. That’s everything you said in your comment, everything else is just wrong. To start, you said that the newer lifts are so big that they are destroying the look of the environment. Interesting theory, because the stations of newer lifts are designed not to do that. To give you an example, look at the new Fleckalmbahn in Kitzbuehl, the old one from the 80s had soo massive stations, that it is much better to see the newer and more slim ones. Same is for that lift. The old one looked objectively worse in the environment, especially the on on the mountion is much slimmer, which is good. In addition to that you obviously have an interesting definition of „comfort“ in your mind. Everything, literally everything about that new cabin is better than the old one. It’s much bigger, has heated seats and is faster. I don’t understand how you can say the old one is better, it is just not ture. And if you look to all the other advantages of the new lift then, it is kind of impossible to argue that the old one was better… The new one is much more energy efficient and has a higher capacity. Especially the capacity is important. I don’t know if you have every been there in winter before, but the amount of time you had to spend just to take the lift was Insane in the mornings. I’m very happy that they got that new lift and I’m looking forward to test it out. And although if you say that you don’t need all the technical aspects of the newer lifts, they are there and they are only an advantage, not a disadvantage. In the end, you might be a „nostalgic person“ and you may like the variability of old lifts and manufactures, nostalgic should not be the reason not to do the obviously right steps and replace these old lifts, if they are not good enough anymore. And yes, there might be only 2 big manufactures for lifts left with Leitner and Doppelmayr so all the newer lifts may look similar, but that does not make the newer lifts bad at all 
