Simble Overdrive into different amps next to a real 80's Dumble amplifier. This video is to show some similarities between the Dumble amp and the Simble pedal.
Simble is played into Fender Hot Rod DeVille, Fender Showman Reverb and Marshall 50w head
• Simble Overdrive: www.mpamp.com/f...
Kai Jokiaho: Drums

Marko Karhu: Guitar

THE SIMBLE OVERDRIVE IS A TRANSPARENT AND ORGANIC SOUNDING PEDAL WITH WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE.
Natural organic tone, un-surpassable touch sensitivity, sweet tube-like compression and built in inspiration. This natural sounding pedal works as a clean boost, ”on the edge” crunch, or a sweet singing overdrive, always retaining the tone of your prized guitar.
The Simble pedal is happy with either single coil pickups or humbuckers and thanks to the pedals wide bandwidth also works great with bass!
May the tone be with you.

I have played an early 80's ODS and a 90's ODS. I've owned Zendrives, Rumble Mod, Ethos, DumBox, Wampler Ecstacy, Zenkudo, Dumkudo, Dumbloid, Jetter GS 124, and a Menatone Howie. Nothing and I mean nothing, comes close to this Simble pedal I just bought. If you are looking for a pedal that absolutely NAILS the characteristics of the fabled Dumble overdrives, just buy this pedal. This is hands down the best D style od I've ever played, and surprisingly enough, one of the most inexpensive. Hats off to the folks at Mad Professor!

+Mike Brock that's an impressive resume... I have used a Zendrive 2 that was impressive though arguably a lot of tube sag. Have you played one of these? Also how much were you paid to make this statement? Also can you hear a difference, in this clip at least of 720p HD audio with decent cans or monitors, between the simble and the real Dumble?

I don't hear tens of thousands of dollars difference here. Probably the most accurate sounding Dumble pedal on the market. If I was hearing this thing cranked up and live on stage (where tone actually matters), I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Ordering mine today.

Finally proof that the Simble sounds more like a Dumble that an actual Dumble. I thought the Dumble sounded a little muddy and kinda like a pedal, while the pedal sounded like a Dumble amp with a perfectly set bias and JAN tubes from 1955. Way to go guys. You switched the sound tracks didn't you?

In the first sequence, if the high of the pedal's tone was reduced slightly, and the mids goosed just a tad, I think the end result would have been much closer to my ears. Nonetheless, the ability to even GET that close is remarkable. Well done fellas.

I got to say "hats off" to simbletone; firstly for the fact they didn't find the first chump that can play a guitar to demo it. (The number of shit examples on the net of good products being played by shit players on out of tune guitars is mind boggling... and the number of times the shit examples make it onto the company websites is bizarre). Whereas Simbletone have got it right.... Marko here is a first rate player. Nice to have discovered him here. Also the recording is very nice quality. @@MadProfessorPedals There's a bit of a learning curve with the Simble - I'm just now figuring out how to work on the sound, all good though, very interesting pedal. Can I ask you if the controls behave in a similar way to the Zendrive? I had one a while back, sold it in favour of the Keeley Super Phat Mod - the Zendrive was OK but lacked a little 'body' somehow? (I've got a half-dozen drive pedals now, I'm looking mainly for something a bit like the Carlton driven sound from the Simble, I play an LP Custom P-90) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rMCSd5mBqKvZeWw.html&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR0OOaO4teBBDBhYOSb7v1BaVyMmHRARarDoLwwXqc8TG3joGHwlr2kn_CQ - and yes, I've got very close with the Simble, which is opening up to be a great pedal for this!

@@TheGurner1 Not very familiar with the Zendrive, but in Simble: Accent is your tone adjustment before the drive circuit. You can start from 8 o'clock. And Contour is kinda like your presence after the drive circuit. Cheers!!

The Simble sounds good but... Oh that Dumble Super Overdrive is just the Holy Grail. Sweet, round, tight. Oh -my -God. Wish I had $100,000 to plunk down on the real thing.

You're right, nothing like a real Dumble Overdrive...but there are closer approximations than this Simble pedal. Mark Kane builds a wicked Dumble Overdrive amp replica for under $5K. And It's close! Check out a few of my clips where I'm playing it, one with Steely Dan sideman Randy Singer!

For a 100,000 there are thousands of things you could buy to better improve your tone, and you'd still have half of it left lol

Hate to be a kill joy but here I go. Great pedal though. "Your solo on Steely Dan’s “Kid Charlemagne” is pretty legendary. Are there any secrets to that tone? I played the same 335 on 90% of my solo sessions, including the solo for “Kid Charlemagne.” I just used a little Tweed Deluxe amplifier. There’s video of that rig on my website. The combination that I used sound-wise for the “Kid Charlemagne” solo was the 335, Tweed Deluxe amplifier, back pickup and with the tone control turned down to about three." www.premierguitar.com/articles/chattin-with-mr-335-1

Yes, we knew he was using Tweed Deluxe. Nonetheless a great solo that was very interesting to try to duplicate for this demo :-)

gain pedals that run on 9 volts always sound like pedals. even the same pedal run at 12 volts + sound like amps. what is the highest voltage this pedal can run? it's pretty tight at 9 volts so maybe just 12 volts would make the Dynamics more natural without getting brittle. I don't understand why boutique pedal builders don't all make pedals that are designed to run at 12 volts and up. if you can afford these pedals you can afford a decent power supply that can run whatever voltages you want.

What a really interesting observation that I hadn't thought of. Is it a bit dangerous for me to test my pedals out at 12 volts?

Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan Solo is by Larry Carlton, a famous Dumble user.

Although he never used a Dumble on a Steely Dan recording. He always used the little tweed Fender Deluxe. He still sounds like Larry! I saw him play though a Hot Rod Deville, and he still had the same tone. It was a great show at a small venue.

On my Simble, I typically use the settings being used here on Kid Charlemagne. It really makes the neck pickup on my Les Paul sing! I'm not saying I sound like Larry Carlton or Robben Ford, but it definitely sounds great!
