Endi omwekesia = Ndi umwigisha = I am a teacher I studied at JKUAT. One day I was in a bus and I heard an old man talking these words on his phone: "Ndi mumuduga!" That is pure Kirundi : It means :I'm in a bus. When you refer to a person in general, you say " mundu" (apologies for typing error if any) . In Kirundi, a person is " umuntu" Oli omwitsa wange = uri mugenzi wanje In Kirundi, when we say: Ari munzu, that means "He/she is in the house" Abana (in Kirundi) = children

I am Mugabe from Kigali Rwanda: Asante sana dada Doreen, bantu people are very closely related, surely we might share one origin. Kiluhya is not only related to Kirundi, it's also closely related to Kinyarwanda from Rwanda, and some languages in Uganda and TZ. I am Burundian and so far I thought that Luganda language is the closest to Kirundi (sometimes I watch Fun Factory =comedy in Luganda but I have never been in the Kingdom of Buganda). I didn't know that there are so many similarities between Luhya and Kirundi. I think that it is by watching the Churchill Show (=Kenyan comedy show) that I heard about Luhya tribe. I WAS REALLY SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT YOU USE INZU (meaning house) IN LUHYA.

Bali Khungira betsanga} I can say Bariko bahansanga or( baraje ) Or Bari Kugera bahansanga we use this in the past. Gusanga mean meeting in Kirundi Kugera mean destination in Kirundi Bari mean them, they. Bahansanga mean they meet me there( at that place).
