Adam Cooks But saying that it is Arabic is wrong, because when someone is learning based on this, and then hears real arabic (MSA) or another dialect such us Tunisian, Moroccan, Lebanese... the student will not recognize most of the words. Moreover, Egyptian is not the nearest dialect to MSA (not even in the top 5)
@hamzaboukraa6365
@hamzaboukraa6365 7 жыл бұрын
Adam Cooks Culturally speaking it is more real! I know what I am talking about. it could be different and hardly understandable for non arabs, so I will just try to explain (I don't pretend to possess any general truth, it is just an expression of facts): - in schools in all the Arabic countries, the lessons are written in MSA and not in a dialect - The majority of writers write in MSA and not in a specific dialect (so few ones prefer to write in a dialect and fall in the trap of closed small audience) - News channels use MSA and not dialects It is for all these reasons that I said Real when talking about MSA :)

Abdo Kareem I think we should always make sure that the others know what type of Arabic it is. It is like making a video in Spanish and titling it as learn Latin. I don't personally have a problem with dialects but I am still unable to accept them in their written form, it looks funny.

What a refreshing episode. It was very interesting to see what words are similar. That gives you at start a bunch of words in you own dictionary which you don't need to learn the translation. And it shows how languages are assimilate many words. Very good idea. Please more videos like this "super easy Arabic vs super easy *some language". I would like to see as some language: german/English/russian as next. I think it don't matter if it is egyption Arabic because of the big film industry in Egypt everyone has seen an Egypt movie and can understand you. (And my first trip was to Egypt. That's why I learned my first Arabic words in Egypt Arabic)

It has nothing in common with Polish. The "similar" words are actually words borrowed from arabic, and they are the same in many other European languages.. All these words are similar in English too.

Helen Jayne perhaps these item names were simply adopted but tweaked only to suit local dialect hence the similarity? I would imagine one country selling the first lamps that was ever invented on earth and the name of the object was thus used by traders who exchanged goods from their country for 'lamps'. So it is not coincidence but simply because these people did not think it necessary to invent another word for the object.

zoji rushi That's an interesting point. Standard Arabic is a highly flexible language especially when finding Arabic equivalents for new nouns established in a non-Arabic language. For instance, the word 'Television' is 'Mirnah' in Arabic. 'Lamp' is 'Misbah'. 'Telephone' is 'Hatif' and the list goes on. However, as time goes by, you find more Arab speakers using the Arabicized forms of the words. This leads to some of the original Arabic words falling out of use. On the other hand, Modern Arabic is a bunch of lazy dialects that don't care for originality and are rigid in comparison to Standard Arabic. Therefore, finding words like 'Telefezion', 'Lamba' , and 'Telefon' is quite common. It is worth mentioning that a word like 'Sukkar' is originally Arabic, and was tweaked and adopted by other languages.

it was nice to see how the child like to learn and speak both languages. Very funny how kids handle this so easy. If you maybe are the parents: please teach the child both languages. It is the biggest gift you can give them. I grow up in german (+russian) in Germany and can speak this two languages very well. To learn an Additional language if you are older is much more harder then if you are a child

Muhammad's Egyptian is clear and can be understood by all. Some minor changes to help learnersmake it more like the standard Arabic might be: 1. "Hada" m. or "Hadhih" f. instead of "Di" for "this is" 2. "wa" instead of "wi" for "and" 3. "Halib" instead of "laban" for "milk" 4. Take away "beta3it" meaning "belong to" it's not even necessary because "of" is understood as an idaafa in the phrase "qawat Justyna" Justyna's coffee!

The standard Arabic is the common variation that people know from the Atlantic Ocean to the Arabian Gulf. The local variations have things in common, but they are different in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary, semantics and even grammar. They are almost distinct languages (Maghreb, Egypt, Levant, Iraq, Gulf and Yemen). Thus, the Standard Arabic unites us, and it should be the one that a non-native speaker has to learn if he is about to work in a official or academic position, or if he wills to move between too many Arab countries. However, if he wills to deal with one country, then he should try to grasp the local variation because the Standard Arabic is rarely used by laypeople though they can understand it to a long extent.

it’s one of the Arabic dialects which called Egyptian AND to me it is better to teach dialect instead of SA ( standard Arabic) because we don’t speak SA in our daily life ,,, Actually it depends on what you really want from learning Arabic LIKE if you want to learn to contact people and speak to them it had better to learn one dialect of the dialects BUT if you interested about holy book (Quran ) or history and you wanna read books in Arabic so it had better to learn SA Finally, i guess you guys who are interested about learning Arabic can be learning both dialect and SA . That is not so hard because both are Arabic

Idiotyczny pomysł na temat odcinka. Języki są zupełnie od siebie różne. Wszystko jest inne akcent, wymowa, gramatyka, alfabet itd. Same bzdury i odcinek robiony na siłę.
