I just read about your story in the news and searched you out, and momma we wear the same pair of nasty shoes. On 3-29-19 I was struck not by a drunk driver but a driver face timing and killed my 3 children ages 12,15 and 17. My friends only child 19 was in the car and died too. 4 children died. I survived. We were headed to a TX high school event. You are the first person I have found with a similar loss. I want hug you. Just to be in the presence of someone who unfortunately gets it. The depth of the rawness. Again hugs to momma. Hugs to you❤️💜💙

I think once you are caught driving drunk, you should be required to have an interlock breathalyzer device on your car for 20 years minimum and wear and ankle bracelet that monitors alcohol use for 5 years.

My friend was driving to Logan, Ut in two cars. He and his wife and younger kids were in the second car and four of their older children 15, 18, 19, 21 were in the first car in front. A drunk driver hit the first car head in and he and his wife saw it all happen. All four of his children were killed instantly. My heart still aches for him and that was 25 years ago. My prayers are with you. I am so very sorry this happened.

Losing 1 child is life ending. Losing 3, at once. That just ends your soul. This Mom is literally the strongest person on this entire planet. Just recovering what she went through physically from the wreck alone, the healing, the physical therapy, residual pain, but the emotional aspect too. I am in awe. God bless this family 💔

As a reminder to the older kids who drive, & a lesson to the younger kids who will be driving soon. This is heartbreaking & I don’t even know how you are managing to do this, but I thank you for showing this & saving lives! Only what appears to be empty platitudes surface but yet so heartfelt: “I hurt for your loss” “may God give you and your family strength” and most importantly, “THANK YOU for having the strength to share your story.” NO ONE can imagine the pain and loss you, your husband and family have and will forever endure. Truly life isn’t fair. I realize now that it is not meant to be. It’s what one does after life changing moments such as these that truly define us as individuals and help shape humanity as a whole. Thank you and may god be with ya’ll ALWAYS.

I weep for you and your beautiful children. I am glad that you have found a way to use your family’s tragedy to educate young teens. A drunk driver hit a friend of ours, head on, in Missouri. The mom of two girls in the backseat was killed instantly. Her husband, injured but ambulatory after the crash, was left a widower in his early thirties. Drinking and driving cannot be tolerated. Period.

I almost died in a head on collision. The driver ran away on foot as they cut me out with the jaws of life. He was likely under the influence but it could not be proven since he ran. He has served no jail time since it happened 3 years ago. And he has a brand new truck. Florida is very lenient on drunk drivers.

Such a beautiful presentation. It hit my heart.Tears fall right now for you. My heart goes out to you and your family. I am also a victim of a drunk driver and I'm permanently disabled with chronic moderate to severe pain from a condition that developed in my foot that was crushed in the accident called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I will never be without pain. It was the drivers 4th DUI and he came out without a scratch. He was fleeing from the cops ( he had hit a few cars as he was leaving a bar. Very drunk and was fleeing when the cops saw him and spun around and began chasing him.)Just as I had turned onto a road, he came flying at me from a blind curve and didn't have time to react before crashing into me. I spent days in the hospital. Thankfully my other injuries have healed, but again, I will always have the pain from this painful condition. Rated one of the worst chronic pain diseases there is. In my small town there is no Uber, Lyft or taxi's available in my small town in the Northern California Redwoods and it's wonderful that other than when I was hit, there have been no drunk driving incidents for as long as I have lived here for 30 years this month. I hope that your story reaches many. May God bless you and your family as you go on with this pain in your heart and keep you safe.

My 19 yr old was also killed in a traffic accident caused by a stupid father who let his 16vyr old unlicensed, uninsured daughter have the keys to his car after midnight so she could joy ride. She got in front of my boys car at the last minute to make a left turn from the furthest lane of the street. He died at the scene. She had minor injuries. Thank you so much for being brave enough to go through telling this story over and over so that other people will benefit. I know you will impact many people to make better decisions. I have shown both my children (my other is just toddlers) and my 19 year old sister this video. I also have had more children later and am not bothered by the little things. For the time those kids were on this earth u raised them up to be amazing people. u take pride in knowing how great they were and have positively impacted people while they were here and still are even after death. Thank you for being an amazing momma and such a resilient person ❤️

Support & Love to you and your family. Thank you for being so brave and telling your story. It's a horrific event, but I believe it needs to be told so that someone will think twice before getting behind the wheel impaired. My husband was tboned by a drunk driver, luckily he survived, but he still suffers with pain 15 years later from the accident. The drunk driver fled & when the police found him, he was already at home. So no charges were laid.....

I came across a short video that was all the text messages between Katie and her bestie on that dreadful night. My heart sunk as I read each message. And then this video came up, and I’m so thankful that it did. My son is 15, and will be driving soon. I’m going to sit down with him and watch this video (again for me) with him. Through all your pain, I can’t thank you enough for speaking about your children, and the night they were taken from you. Katie really did a phenomenal job stepping up and making all the arrangements. What a blessing she is! Sending you big ((((((hugs)))))), and continued prayers for you and your family.

I’m not sure why your daughter’s video was on my KZfaq tonight, her telling the story of the crash but I’ve watched all the funeral videos now & this one, I just feel the heartbreak of you & your family, I truly just know the Lord is with you all, I know the children are with God but you would much rather have them here. I’m 62 & have had several losses in the last few years, I know time & my faith is the only things that have helped to lessen some pain. God has shown me many times he is real & with me, my most recent was my son & our furrbaby & I were on the freeway to pickup my daughter at the airport, it had just stopped raining, we were in the fast lane, he was driving, he is 30, a very good driver, he was going 70, (75mph limit) I had just told him he should slow down little, when we hit a pot hole, we started spinning, he kept his wits, held the wheel, pumped breaks, I closed my eyes & prayed, suddenly we stopped, opened my eyes, we were all the way on the other side of the 4 lanes in the pull off lane, I saw all cars stopped, we were facing them! We did not hit anyone, or go off in the ditch, or hit rails, it was a definite MIRACLE! My son calmly turned the car around & proceeded on the freeway! Our furrbaby girl was on the floor behind my son! It was unbelievable, God had definitely saved us & probably others that day. When you said things happen so fast, that is very true. My sister’s best friend was killed by a drunk driver in 1980, head on also. She was 22. One man’s bad choice also. I think you & your daughter are so wonderful & full of God’s love to tell your story & work with groups that are saving lives, I’m sure your presentations have saved lives, you may never know how many but I’m sure kids & adults have thought about your story & decided to not drive after drinking. Bless you & your family, May the Lord always keep you in his arms. Wish you peace & happiness in all your lives. 🙏❤️

Katie and Mama Dawn, you're doing amazing work spreading the word of consequences of drinking and driving. That video was very powerful... some people may think it should be easy to just get out of the way but oh boy does that dispell that theory! I'm praying you reach as many people as possible. I just found your story today and have watched many of ypur videos... I've cried and cried watching and listening like you're my own family. May God give you the strength to carry on and find peace in your memories of the years you did have with your kids, knowing you'll be together again. 🙏🙏🙏🩷💙💜 much love to you all

@@christinereid5079 One of her children referred to her as Dawn in the text messages during her presentation. My "assumption" is that maybe some of the children may be from a previous relationship, but Dawn accepts them all as her own, as with any loving family.

You have a beautiful family. I firmly believe that every car should not be able to start without a alcohol test. Every car should have it and it's not an unrealistic idea. With today's technology why not. I believe no could argue with that. All cars would have it so no accident would be caused by an irresponsible drunk. It's 2023 and with the increase in the population it would be a good feature in vehicles and who could argue with that.

I'm so sorry that you and your family have lost so much. Its unimaginable that a mother could endure such loss. I'm telling you though, that although you've had to endure this tragedy, those people listening to you speak will be thinking long and hard before they, or anyone they know, will drive drunk. Your precious babies are saving lives right now. Anyone watching this, or just hearing your story, will be thinking twice before drinking and driving. I pray the Lord remain as close to you as possible, providing the comfort, healing, and understanding you need. This is one of those experiences we can never completely heal from, I know...but in heaven there is the beautiful Tree of Life, the trunk is on either side of the River of Life, and on that Tree are 12 fruits, but to me, the most important part of the Tree are its Leaves, which are for the Healing of the Nations. When we all get to heaven many of us will meet at that Tree and stay for awhile...I'll be the one rubbing those leaves all over myself for however long it takes. I imagine you'll be there too, and in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, we shall ALL be changed. This corruptible will put on incorruption, this mortal shall put on immortality! O death, where is thy sting! O grave, where is thy victory! The last enemy to be destroyed will be death. No more sorrow, sickness, pain, or crying, or death...never again will we ever have to say "Goodbye". This is our hope in Christ. Hold on sister, it won't be long before every mothers empty arms are filled again with the comfort and love of her children. Thank you for telling your story. Even as you weep you are blessing so many. God bless you and your family ♡ This is a song I wrote when I needed Him most....May it bless your heart. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bLClfciDyb60n3U.html

Wow I’m absolutely broken, I can’t even imagine my heart love and prayers go out to this mom and all of her kids, it is so crazy how I stumbled across this KZfaq page, I knew immediately after the first few words on the video how you had to tell mom this was someone who lived by me like close, then that was confirmed when you said carencro, and then it dawned on me omg that was that bad crash off I-49 when I was working at the rest area off I-49 near bunkie, we were told about by law enforcement who stopped in at the rest area that day or the next day. I now work at the rest area of I-10 in butte larose near Breaux bridge . My heart just aches for all y’all, I will be thinking praying for all of y’all 💔
