Lyrics:
Cecilia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Oh, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please to come home
Cecilia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Oh, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please to come home
Come on home

I’m 32, my grandmother used to play this in her truck every day when she picked me and my sister up from school when we were 5 and 6 years old. We sang it so much my grandmother took us to a recording studio and had us sing over this song and a couple others and she had it recorded onto cassette tapes and eventually put onto a cd. She had the cd played during her funeral and now every time I think of this song I miss my grandma.

No drums in the backtrack. Actually, Paul came up with the backtrack first and wrote the song afterwards it was so good. Paul found a glitch in a Nabra that pops on recording slapping sounds. So Paul, Art and a few others recording themselves beating the hell out of guitar cases and came up with this.

Last night I had to take my dad to the ER at 12:30 a.m. After getting checked in, at about 2 a.m. his nurse Emily started singing this song outside of our room, quite well I might add. I was surprised that a young lady who appeared to be in her twenties knew this song by heart. Dad and I both just listened and laughed and forgot why we were there for just a little bit. Thank you Emily and all the nurses who try to put a smile on your face despite what you or even themselves may be going through.

" Cecilia"...This musical magicalfluff is fun stuff to sing out and about. As if Paul and Artie were running down the happest streets of NEW York city , singing and shouting at the top of their vocal range , having fun and laughting all the way through this song. IT'S the happyest of all of Paul's songs he's ever written songs like " THE 59th street bridge song " or " feelin groovey" and the happyist" Take me to the mardi gras ". Saint cecilia is the most patron saint of the love of music and this song sees those two artists at the peak of their singing powers. They had grown up together released 4 studio albums to date. Their voices and vocal styles had grown together and matured to the point of oneness. The blend had become tighter and more expressive than their other albums , the joy the jubilation in the singing the froth the bubbles produced in this song made " Cecilia a world wide hit of the album their 5 th and final and last one together the " BOTW" ONE.

It went on and on and on! We kept on dancing because we didn't want to be rude! It was so funny! One of the stories told over and over! This brings back memories for my Dad when I played this song. This reminds him of the Induction center for Vietnam draftees. They were playing this song in the Induction center.

Grew up as a young kid listening to these guys. My parents thought they were great. I didn't necessarily appreciate these guys when I was 7 because it was my parents music but that all changed in time. So glad I was exposed to them early on as I later came to appreciate just how timeless they are. This song in particular (in spite the story the lyrics tell) makes you come alive. Dad would grab me and we'd dance all around the living room. Good times.

It’s funny you mentioned the subject matter of the lyrics. When I was a child in the 70’s we would sing about making bread out in my kitchen. I stepped out to wash my hands, when I came back to bake someone’s taking my pans.
