Stop giving grown men a cop out by saying bad advice and bad people around them. Most of the time it’s not the case it’s just a grown man wanting to do what he sees fit. There’s too much removing accountability from footballers. It’s his phone and his social media so ultimately it’s his choice what he chooses to say or not say

He couldnt get in the Leicester team so they sold him to a 2nd rate German team for 500k Everton brought him back for 1.7m he had 2 seasons he done ok but way too inconsistent. That's why Dyche dropped him last season and played McNeil over him who was our best player last season and top goalscorer. McNeil hasn't played this season still injured just came back last game. The whole time Gray still didn't play so he obviously wasn't in Dyche plans that's why he wanted to go. Also we just brought Jack Harrison and Danjuma in both wingers also.

funny how these three always assume that players haven't already tried "knocking on the managers door" and it's just assumed they've just gone straight onto Instagram to whine. If a player and manager have had already had a conversation, in this instance, that Gray would be allowed to leave, then Gray is within his rights to get pissy about it if the club has gone back on this promise. The same is true when Danny Rose was given assurances by Levy which were not honoured when Mourinho came into the club. This old fashioned message that talksport constantly bang on about that employees "should do as they're told and keep their traps shut" is laughable. Treat your employees with a bit of integrity and you don't get them airing their issues in public

come on , you talk as if sport is somehow some sacrosanct arena, Danny Rose was given a ''promise'' , as if a football player wouldn't strangle his grandmother for an extra 5 quid a week ? Rose was being a nuisance and Levy did not have 5 minutes to waste listening to a serial whinger

In your quest to 'support the workers' you seem to have not listened. Dyche states that the first they heard was that Gray told him that he was leaving. There was no "knocking on the managers door" and having a frank discussion / outcome - he told them what he was doing and then moaned on social media when he didn't get his way. Levy gave assurances under a different manager. It's naivety gone mad, to think that a new manager would go along with the "assurances" under a different regime. Jesus!!! Note that Harry Kane, who had a similar "agreement" with Levy and so in theory should have been allowed to join Man City. I don't recall him moaning on social media when he didn't get his way. @@topcat4265 And the manager shouldn't be ashamed of himself why? He's not improved a single player at the club. The exact opposite in most cases. It's almost impossible to figure out what his gameplan is most weeks, other than pump it forward. The organisation of our defence is terrible, truly atrocious. The midfield 3 of Onana, Gana and Doucoure are the least cohesive unit in the league. What is the system? Those 3 look like they're playing for 3 different teams. He has twice been forced to drop Micheal Keane, not because he wanted to, but because he was facing open revolt from a large section of the fans. The football he plays is absolutely honking. I can put up with rotten football, but not when there is no end product. We've had a literal handful of victories in 8 months, and he personally has only had 8 PL wins in his last 57 games. He has told some ridiculous lies, and the smugness of his snarky replies to reasonable questions in press conferences is grating. He's not got a great squad, and the transfer business other than a couple of exceptions has been dire. But to hold him apart as a positive and say he should feel no shame is bizarre.

@@borachon26 the manager was never meant to win anything. A manager of his calibre was meant to survive, if we went down, he's been there before and came back up. That was the owners choice. The players disgust me. Hows it a manager's job to take the responsibility for shameless error's. They've played football all their lives and found their level. If they need shouting to not give in, chase the ball, find space, make runs, fight, then their in the wrong shirt let alone sport. Sick of hearing the managers and owner are to blame. It doesn't look great a player coming out against his manager. However, too often the benefit of doubt is not afforded to the player in same way as the manager. Everton had 15 shots on target 26 overall in both 1- 0 home losses that is not parking the bus . We beat Brighton 5 - 1 away Last season that's not parking the bus. Go look at Everton amount of shots on goals and expected goals it's high. When we lost to Fulham 1-0 first game of season we had an expected goal x G of 3 which is the highest for any team without scoring throughout the whole of last season for any team, Everton haven't been parking the bus they have been failing to convert the very high total of shots because they haven't had a single winger or CF on the pitch so far this season with DCL, McNeil, Gray, Harrison all being out nog too mention DCL there only CF has missed the majority of last 2 seasons thro ugh injury so Demarai Gray and Dwight McNeil both wingers were CF for us for a bunch of games last season. Last week we finally got a CF in Beto who played 45m in lg cup and 90m at Sheff utd we scored 4 goals in the 2 games after scoring 0 in first 3 lg games. He may have parked busses as you say at Burnley having no choice but I promise you as critical as Everton fans can be I've heard many complaints about his management since coming in January but parking the bus I have not seen or heard one single fan say, j go every week too. After international break all our players will be back DCL, Jack Harrison, Dwight McNeil, Seamus Coleman to play along with Onana, Beto, Danjuma, James Garner, Patterson, Young, then within another month or so now he's back in training Dele Alli will be competing for a spot he's been given his favourite shirt number 20 May work may not but that is not a defensive line up. Allardyce parked buses Moyes did with us at times Benitez tried but failed at everything as well as that but Dyche doesn't put 10 men behind the ball you don't average about 12 shots a game like we do like that.

Doubt it. The average attendance is 7000. No CL, little coverage. The best players in the world want their legacy and place among the greats. To say they played for Real Madrid or Liverpool. Its the clubs that are enticing and they are hardly going to be badly paid. They can still clean up in their mid thirties over there. No need to go in their prime. Out of all the players they have bought this year at a huge outlay, only a handful will still be playing in 3 years due to age. I think their real goal is to develop young local talent so they can eventually bid for the world cup and not perform like Qatar did. The foreigner restriction is a good example of that.

If your manager is construed as having questioned your application in training on international TV - not your quality, not being off your game that week in training, but actual attitude, application and professionalism - I can see a player wanting to put that right in the public's perception so as not to get stuck with that reputation for his whole career. I'd have done it differently than Sancho has, but I would have done it and I'm not spoilt brat. It's a question of maintaining the viability of your career. It's one thing to be viewed as not being good enough for ManU/PL, it's another entirely to be viewed as having an attitude problem, because that will close doors for you even at a lower level and in other leagues.

And this is why we don't need a transfer window. Players should just be treated as employees, they should have a notice period and the club or player should be able to terminate the contract at any time following standard employment rules (notice period and payment of compensation by the side terminating) obviously if there is less time left on the contact then the payment will be left, but if this is followed players could leave when they wanted and clubs can terminate as they wish. Transfers would then be a case of a club approaching a player and agreeing a fee that would cover the termination of the current contract by the player. Where else would your current employer say where you can work next?
@paulie-g
@paulie-g 9 ай бұрын
The current arrangement would then be replicated in private contracts between clubs and players. Players want the security in case they get injured, have a downturn in form or fall out of favour with the manager, while clubs want the security of being able to plan, maintain a squad and being compensated for development of players. Other comparable industries where key individuals are very well compensated and crucial to the whole concern, eg film, have very complex contracts that have similarly restrictive (albeit in different ways) provisions.

I’m certain Gray is not the first and he certainly won’t be the last to make the decisions he did, talking about how he’s been treated by his club and wanting move on with his career. And clearly he’s not lying because he’s been sitting on the bench for almost the entire season. Probably the coach intended on sabotaging his career, it sure looks that way🤔 There are tons of players in that Saudi league that shares his sentiments, you should do a panel on those players but I forgot, you won’t.

I don't know Gray's side so won't say anything based on this show. I only ask: was Gray going to Saudi Arabia planned/ in the works for weeks before this happened? Or did it just occur as a result of this? Seems really Petty on both of them!

What these good folks are failing to account for is bad managerial behaviour and employee mistreatment. The truth is we don't know exactly what treatment a player may be subjected to by managers within clubs (e.g. being ignored/dismissed, etc.) and the detrimental effects this can have on an individual. This would be compounded if a toxic culture exists more broadly within a club. The ability to defend oneself and to "speak up" is one of the rights employees have and this is often helpful in challenging toxic behaviours and cultures within organisations. Who would happily tolerate that Ten Hag treatment in any other line of work?? He's outed Sancho (in an unhelpful way IMO) to the world without him being able to defend himself. Oh and, as employees themselves, what organisational standards are managers held to by which they are to treat their fellow employees (i.e., players)?? Players are often no angels but neither are managers.

All to the media during interviews. Top managers call out their players when they’ve tried everything else, I’m sorry, they do. If the player won’t take it onboard and try to prove him wrong like Aron wan-bissaka then he’s got the wrong mentality and isn’t right for the big clubs

He average 3 or 4 goals 3 or 4 assists cost us 1.7m and sold for 10m that is not our best player he was good on his best day that's why Leicester sold him for 500k to German team. If he was that good a prem team would have got him we've had him for sale for 3 weeks Fulham shown bit interest then nothing. DCL,McNeil, Onana, Pickford, Beto, Doucoure all much better players and contribute much more every week.
