Slightly harsh. He said he disagreed with the sacking. He said however that the owner came out and against there grain of other clubs actually explained the reason and what they were looking to do. He respected he put his head up and said if we fail I take the blame. Simon clearly didn’t agree with the decision.

After following Wolves for 50 years now I know how the fanbase normally react. After Luton away (four points in six games) and City coming up next, an almost certain loss, the different forums were full of uncertainty about the visdom of appointing Gary O'Neil as head coach. A few good results later and everyone has forgotten what they sad only a few weeks before. I must admit I had my, let us mildly call it, indecisiveness about him. But taking over a team without a preseason to find out whome to build your team around, especially with the framework of last seasons team recently sold, it would have been harsh to already look for a replacement at the wheel as many supporters suggested. Now it turns out the club got it right when they stood firm behind Gary. And I'm glad for his redemption as a capable PL coach. He deserve to be at this level.

I'm not a Bournemouth fan, but I will always value the opinion of people who watch their team every week over people that don't. They have ambition, which is commendable and the manager they had appointed had previously done well in La Liga with an unfancied club, but it doesn't look like it's working at the minute. It's early days and it may still work out for them but it will have to pick up very soon. If they stay up this season then who knows? Maybe in the long-term they will see the benefit. It may seem like clutching at straws but when Brighton sacked Chris Hughton, Graham Potter had them finishing in a pretty similar position for his first two seasons but then they reaped the long-term benefits of that decision.

Not all in fairness, there still are I'd say about a 1/3 or so (maybe more) who wanted Gary to say and are still saying it was the wrong decision. Personally I think we made the right decision and stand by that. In the short term it hasn't worked out but I believe it will in the long term and applaud our owner for once, showing that we have some ambition and don't want to simply "know our place". I understand seeing things from the outside with the view of Gary O'Neil and us however for as good as Gary was with team togetherness, fighting spirit, resilience, backs to the wall etc, he wasn't particularly great when it comes to knowing what his philosophy was, how he wanted us to play, some of tactical decisions were strange and the way we would quite often throw away a lead rather than him making changes so we could keep hold of it etc. I am grateful for what Gary achieved last season and think it was a harsh sacking but I also don't believe he was the messiah neutrals and the media seem to think he is. He is a promising manager though I will give him that and is still very early on in his managerial career so hopefully he can improve on his weaknesses.

Jim White, you need to get the recording of when Jordan said exactly the opposite to what he is now saying. Like a lot of people Gary O’Neil he considered him to be some dour, boring coach. Have a look at the KZfaq clip from Sky today when he shows Carragher his tactical breakdown of Saturday’s game. Way above what most football fans could comprehend and certainly above some failed owner of a football club.

Hold on, Simon Jordan doesn't think Bill Foley should be "involving himself" with the style of football his club play, yet Daniel Levy only recently came out and discussed the style of football he believes Tottenham should play. And we all know how Simon loves to defend his best buddy Daniel Levy from everything, ever. I realise he's more the chairman of the club than the owner, but is it really the chairman's job to involve himself in the team's style of football either? I think not, yet not a peep from Simon when Levy did it.

From a Bournemouth fan’s point of view, GON was far too pragmatic, we were very negative and the football was just boring. This season has been a repeat. The difference is we were all excited by the prospect of Andoni’s “rock n roll/high press” football. GON had a purple patch with us where it was a miracle we got the points we did. GON did well to keep us up, but most fans wouldn’t want him back and I’m sure he is pleased things went the way they did, he is at a bigger club and has enhanced his reputation, as well as getting a big pay off. Lots of talk that AI will be getting sacked this week, I think we need to be patient. Alex Ferguson was nearly sacked in his first season at Utd.

Something the comments fail to acknowledge is that there’s nuance to everything. Iraola still hasn’t got his right hand man due to a work permit issue. He’s brought in players that O’Neil couldn’t but is blighted by injuries after the second hardest opening run of fixtures. People need to stop pretending like they care or know a thing about Afc Bournemouth.

They won't acknowledge things like this because it goes against the "Haha they're getting what they deserve! Go on Gary!" agenda from a lot of neutrals, some Bournemouth supporters and the vast majority of the media. I do wonder how many of these people actually watched a good amount of our games under Gary? Yes, he had his strengths like team togetherness, being harder to break down and fighting spirit to come back into games BUT we also a lot of the time seemingly went into games without much of a plan, we often didn't shut up shop when we should have which ended up in us conceding late on and some of the decisions tactically in terms of formations or where he played players seemed strange. He is a promising manager, was he harshly sacked? I'd say so but at the same time I thought it was a bold move of our board to try and move us forward and grab the chance when it came. If this was another club it would be applauded but because it's us and we should "know our place" it's looked down upon because God forbid we try and show some ambition for once. We can't be having that now can't we!? We've had an awful start but I think it will prove to be the right decision in the long run although granted the turn around really needs to start against Burnley. If it does turn out to be the best decision in the long run, I wonder how many of those commenting will have the decency to admit they were wrong.

I think your spot on. Gary is with us at Wolves and is still finding his feet, regardless of results good or bad. The same for Bournemouth too but maybe will take a few games longer. I actually think you'll be OK and it will click. Too much is being made of GON, it was all last season. Bournemouth have moved on, GON has too. Too much is being made of it.

It’s disturbing that absolute geese like Foley are involved with running clubs. Clueless. Will be hilarious when Bournemouth drop and probably never return for decades. Foley says he’ll live with it, Ok with it? Yeh right. Ok with it when they never return? Joke of a club.

The mistake is spoke about in hindsight. Of course in hindsight it was a mistake. However at the time the owner decided they wanted to change the way they play, be more attacking and try something new. It hasn't worked. But we as fans and critics cannot sit there one day and say "Those lower teams are boring, they never do anything" then throw them under the bus when they do have the balls to try something different.
