In theory sure, but in reality we know that's not how it works from an economic point of view. Unless you unionize the entire supporter base of Wolves, people will continue paying rising ticket prices on a sliding scale - the richer you are the greater your capacity for example. If you don't pay, the theory is there is someone behind you who will. The owners are merely testing your capacity in the most callous and unsympathetic way because they are betting that most will pay it. They know you won't like it and will moan on TalkSport, but you will still pay it by the date it is due. If your point stood then fans would refuse to pay the prices en masse. But that won't happen. Just as we have seen with inflation with the cost-of-living crisis most people keep paying it until they are forced to seek an alternative or go without. We all complained about these higher prices but I didn't see any company feeling sorry for us and decreasing prices or keeping them stable. Only governments do that. That is the environment we are now in unfortunately.

The problem is he put up the prices then told us to support another club if we are looking for a club that is pushing for European football. On top of that he said last year that we won't be spending any more than £10-20mil on players now. Just as a comparison so you know, I buy a season ticket to watch my team (Adelaide) here in the Australian Football League - we have shorter seasons and less home games of course, but if I did a conversion to £, it works out as £17 per home game over a whole season. As a wheelchair user I don’t think I should get a cheaper ticket… I’m not automatically ‘less’ than an able bodied fan. It feels very ableist. Things like good disabled toilets (properly laid out, not a box ticking exercise), automatic doors and parking are much more important.

I will never stop going but Jordan has NO idea on how the "normal" person lives. He has this big business mind but doesnt know that we have had rises every year for 4 or 5 years. Loyal fans up and down the country have pumped their clubs..happily with hard earned money to support and watch them every week. Just because the average joe speaks up about matters that he doesnt understand, he gets his back up and makes fans look like fools. 'No god given right to be there'. I wonder if he said that when he was crystal palace owner? I wonder if thats what most "custodians" think in todays english game. If so, THEY are the problem, NOT the loyal, supportive fans who pay the money!

Football tickets are expensive, but 600 quid over 19 games works out at roughly £32 per game. That's about £15 per hour of entertainment. You don't need to buy the overpriced coffee, beer and snacks or the silly club merch. A cinema ticket is about £12 quid. A concert ticket £60 upwards as is a comedy show for a decent comedian. Barely any change from £100 for a night out. I'm not sure football is that expensive compared to other forms of entertainment.

I agree & I think it is going to need to happen. I think it will happen when this new E.F.L deal starts next season comes to an end. The reason is that at that point, the only way left for them to get more money from T.V. in the U.K. will abolish the rule there literally will be no other option left, no more room left to manoeuvre because they only games we will not get from next season on sky in the E.F.L. is they kick off's at 3 on a Saturday afternoon every single other game will be live. The Premier League will be in the same situation when there deal with Sky & TNT Sports is up they are all running out of Toad to get more TV money they are very close to that class ceiling now T.V money wise & the clubs can see that now. Clubs are close to running out of new ways to generate extra income kits are now getting more & more sponsors on them aswell there only is so much space on them. So the only thing left to exploit for more money in the next T.V cycle after the one that starts next season is they games there will be nothing else left but that is 5 seasons time from next season. so the 28/29 season, I think the ruling will be gone.

The spurs comment about saying if it was gradual it wouldn't be an issue and it wouldn't because people can get used to a little increase and budget for it easier, but when it comes in one chunk it is harder to do so. In what world should wolves be paying more then the villa? I'm a west brom fan and have seen my price go up by around 15% and it isn't on! Us fans need evidence that things will get better due to this. I wouldn't buy a TV or a fridge not knowing what product I would be receiving and this is exactly the same! Football is a results business for managers and the board, for players it’s a pay packet but for fans it’s a case of being TOLD to be loyal. As you say, it’s a nonsense. My club has failed to win anything of note for the last 20 years having experienced the highs of top tier trophies. The standards have slipped but the prices keep increasing. Owners, players and the media demand fan loyalty even when the product is inferior. If your favourite drink started tasting like muck, you’d stop paying and you’d be called mad for continuing to pay for it. Why in football are fans expected to pay more for less based on nothing but emotion? 😂

That price is for a kid and in the family enclosure where you can’t go without an adult. - Wolves are the ONLY club to raise prices for the past six years in the Premier League. - Gary O’Neil is on record already that any summer deals will be funded by sales. - Therefore the club likely to make a profit for 23/24 and 24/25, meaning Jordan’s point is wrong. More time in the pub, watch the game half time, grab some food as qick as possible then get back to your seat. Whare in North American game day or night is much more of an event. Think about that in the context of the price increase they've made - so it's probably an absolute maximum of £7m a year they've made from this. They're around £50m in the hole from transfer expenditure in the last 5 years transfers. It's indefensible that what is such a small amount of money to the club in the context of their expenditure, but a HUGE difference to the beating heart of the football club is being extracted from the fans, instead of just subtracted from the transfer budget..
@samsungmccullagh3608
@samsungmccullagh3608 21 күн бұрын
It's an issue with all clubs. Stop blaming the clubs , blame players that taking 30k plus a week. One week salary could prob pay for all seating, reduce wage bills. Also there backroom staff and club wearhouse staff that need paying there minium wage has increased too. There need too be a salary cap which operates across all league , and age wise. By having wage caps you soon see season tickets become stable. My other point is. Have owners spend there own wealth on transfers. So clubs can still choose use full income and expenditure on transfers and wages or use income just wage and club owner pays for transfer fee. Think any club it's self with a certain amount of debt shouldn't be able too invest in transfer market. Like of Man u 700million in debt. When you're only allowed 105million is a joke

The whole thing is a never ending cycle that involves fans wanting their club to compete, so the club has to push the boundaries to try and bring in the best players they can and pay the wages, to do this they either hope the tv revenue goes up, merchandise sales go up or it goes on to ticket prices, this then annoys the fans who dont want to pay the increased ticket prices. whilst you have a worldwide competition for the best players and really rich clubs who can keep pushing up the wages and transfer fees it will just keep getting worse.

Inflation happens, wages go up each year… I’m suprised my season ticket has only went up by £50 in 5 years. Watching the footy isn’t a necessity, if it’s too much for you don’t bother I’m sure someone else will take up your seat. Season tickets work out cheaper per game than if you buy one each week, which some people are stuck doing as people don’t give up their season ticket, they just moan at the price! I agree with the wheelchair and under 14s prices doubling are wrong, but at the same time the caller said the prices haven’t released so how does he know? Kids season ticket going from £105 to £245. It’s a big jump but how long has it been £105 for a season ticket? That’s a decent price it’s like £5.50 a game. They could have put it up bit by bit each season so you wouldn’t have felt the big jump now but even then people would still moan that it’s increasing each year!

So many different levels of professional football but it all gets filtered through one funnel. It's still great that we can enjoy it's beauty. despite the inevitable transitions and modifications. Jumpers for goalposts ain't never going away. Traditionally, pre season friendlies are cheaper than regular season prices, regardless of the oppo. Kerrrchinging occurs more frequently your side of the pond.

Mate it's a gimmick. The club would survive without that extra million for one season. I'm not interested in winning trophies. They are my hometown team and I will support them no matter what. I can afford to pay the season ticket but on principle at what point does everyone not have a season ticket and they revert to a pricing model for tourists. Tourists don't create atmospheres like you have seen in previous seasons. Just think about that quarter final night in the fa cup. That will never be replicated if it is full of tourists.

The game has gone ever downhill ever since the PL was formed, let’s be honest. Money has ruined football. Shi is out of touch with levels of disposable income available to the typical fan in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. Wolverhampton is I think 11th of again I think 306 boroughs in the UK for poverty/deprivation. FOSUN have bought us the best football in my lifetime but the relationship with Shi and the fans isn’t good. Initially when we had Dalrymple on PR and we were flying with Nuno things were great, but PR ever since has been ABYSMAL and the handling of these rises has been so amateurish as have many if Shi’s decisions (Fabio, Traore loan with NO obligation when we needed him for run in, Signing Injury prone players, allowing strikers out on loan with no cover)…. It’s AWFUL… The German model is what we should be looking at, The PL is just theft….id be interested to know what clubs Jordan is comparing To wolves with his “sizeable comment”… There’s not many..

Those Wolves fans loved it when the club was seemingly buying dozens of players a season, and now they're paying the price for it. If you don't like it, don't go. There are more expensive tickets in the league, and if no one goes, the prices will come down, but then again, so, probably, will the club...

Fair point but the bottom line is Wolves season ticket holders for 40 years are being priced out. Only 3 London clubs (different economical environment) have lower-priced 'cheapest adult season tickets' than Wolves. Bare in mind Wolverhampton is the 11th most deprived city in the UK. People who take kids are now having to pay twice as much.

The Question buy Jim, at the end is do you think you are getting value for money honestly in terms of The Premier League unless you are a Manchester City fan, the answer needs to be on. I personally feel League 1 & 2 are the best value for money in English club football. In Scotland, I dont think we get value for money unless you are talking about None League football or Junior football as we say senior football in Scotland offers absolutely zero value at all for the standard of play from top to bottom in my view. Irish League football as in Nothern Ireland offers the best in the U.K. for what you are paying to what you see on the pitch the drew back is the TV coverage could be slightly better. I can't come on The League of Wales as I have only ever seen the odd game on T.V. once in a will.
