@hellerZauberer As someone that uses an open fire to cook when camping, you want to use a high fire stoneware clay. It can handle thermal shock better. But remember one rule, don't put any ceramic pots over a fire cold. Place it to the side near the fire to let it warm up first. I've seen low fire pieces pop and crack if you don't. A friend of mine has a ceramic Pipkin made with a high sandy grog content that she uses to make tea in the morning by putting it directly into the banked coals.

hi simon with regard to the number of holes on the inside of the spout .I find that If the total area of the holes on the body excedes the area of the hole out of the spout it will pour well giving a good flow . regards steve

I really like the lines. Definitely a cool looking teapot! I think a ball handle on the lid would ruin the look, so the grooves are... groovy. ;) (You should consider mounting a second light above and behind the camera; one for you, one for us.)

Okay, I've noticed you are using a metal trimming tool, and I'm not sure if you use it to trim your base or not. If so, does your metal tool damage your plastic bat?

awesome im going to have to add this to my favorites. How long would you have to say a stool would be or chair for a portal-able unit throwing wheel? I just got one this Christmas, I plan on building my own base to hold it and a chair. Just dont want it too tall or I cant get leverage.

@sleachpots I was given the advice that the stool should be between 1 and 2" higher than the wheel head and your thighs should be parallel to the floor when sitting. :)
