Equal pay for women is false #equality and actually keeps them down. The #FedererDjokovic final this year was 5x longer, therefore the women were paid 5x more per hour. Women are 90% as athletic as men, yet still play best of 3, instead of 5! This only serves to perpetuate the belief that women are far less fit than men, when they're not. True equality for women needs equal number of sets as the men - 5. Trust me, they won't die - might stop all the choking from knowing they can recover from a bad start too.

How good was Halep on the day? Historically good. Her three unforced errors were the fewest in a Wimbledon final (Men, or Women) since records were kept in 1998.. In fact, it was the fewest unforced errors recorded in any Slam final, male or female, in the modern era. And she did it while beating one of the best women's tennis players of all time. A performance for the ages.

@@candelise Serena made over 24 unforced errors. She beat Halep earlier in the same year after coming back from her pregnancy, so that's no excuse. Just well played by Halep.

Maybe the athleticism makes up for the poor tennis game. She does hit the ball well. She runs fast but no one can catch a very slow tennis ball going 30 miles an hour. Fortunately everyone today just bangs the ball back and forth. Why think? Why use strategy? Just hit away from the opponent. Ha ha. I am joking but actually that is all they do.

Halep strategy this match: Return 1st at the feet of SW Mix up hard flat shots and heavy topspin angle shots Use slice when taken wide off court Mix up serve location with body shots and T shots to give SW no real angle to work with.

Those weren't unforced errors, those were FORCED by Halep's unrivaled speed. Serena has to hit harder,more accurate than she ever did in her career and never,ever miss to have the odds in her favor against Halep's best. SW hit a 130mph serve wide in the ad court, it was a fault but Halep just bunted it down the line with pace, that's a serve SW gets the ace 999/1,000 times and if that serve was in this time it would have been Haleps point via return winner.

The crowd were definitely supporting Serena probably wanting to see the record. They warmed to Simona though. It's a shame there was no Wimbledon this year for Simona to defend her title. After her lovely speech and graceful win she would of had a groundswell of support from Round 1. Very popular champion.

Simona really took advantage of Serena. I watched this match live on tv and I couldn’t go to sleep that night. One of the best performances in a final, any slam final. Halep was impeccable. Serena did not play her best, but we have to give so much credit to Halep! First Wimbledon final and she handled herself so well. Against 7 time champion and 11 time finalist, and without a doubt, top 3 most inspirational and successful female tennis player in history! CONGRATULATIONS SIMONA!!!

Halep played a perfect game against Serena . I was most impressed by how focused and in the zone she was throughout the whole match . Tracy Austin made an interesting point that Simona has spent 2 years working with a sports psychologist and i'm sure it helped her approach to this match . I believe mental attitude is a key factor in all sports .

Damn near perfect from Simona. It wasn't a classic battle by any means but it was pretty satisfying. I was lucky enough to be there to watch Halep's third and fourth round victories from the stands. God, I'm going to miss the tournament this summer.

I miss Simo so damn much, man! Always looking back at this match with joy! I hope her case gets solved fast, because she's been done an injustice (internally betrayed I mean, not that she was suspended. I can't blame them for suspending her after finding out those results, but I truly believe she's innocent)

Now with covid-19 situation I sometimes come to watch this match& got to the following conclusions: 1. This was the best match of Simona. 2. The commentators were biased 3. The spectators were fair& kept quiet compared to Uso ones. Well done , Simona!! 😘💪

I'm pretty sure no one expected this outcome, considering Grass is Haleps least favorite surface and Serenas favorite especially with her serve and her lopsided head to head against Serena. Simona had a plan and executed it perfectly
