Hi Skater. Confidence is a huge factor for a most skaters. I'm fine on the flat but put me in a skate park and I too have confidence issues.
I hope this helps you improve your confidence and your skating journey.
Happy rolling

I like how you said “practice makes progression” instead of the typical “practice makes perfect”. Takes a lot of pressure off from being a beginner. It’s the learning process that makes the journey fulfilling after all. :)

For me the biggest confidence booster was going on a challenging bumpy pavement that was still save to skate on, because once I drove there and back any other surface filled like the smoothest concrete ring. I of course made sure to know how to balance, stop, pivot and all the things to keep me save. Going on a uneven surface that is still consistent in it's challenges was a great way to build my confidence in skating outside and I would recommend!

I absolutely understand that feeling. As an adult skater I think we’re often all too aware of our responsibilities and want an injury would mean to the people around us too. Wear your safety gear and lock in those fundermentals before attempting any tricks etc. As you feel more stable and in control of your skates the confidence will come x

We hire a small village hall every week. It's not big but it does have a lovely floor at a reasonable price. Do you have any local village halls that you could approach? Maybe you could share the cost with other local skaters? It's so hard to find nice spaces. Hope you find somewhere xx

I've bought a pair of skates after near on 30 years of not skating, for fun with my kids and to be a bit more active. I forgot everything, literally everything. Your videos have been great not just to give me tips of what to physically do, but also in giving me the confidence to try. Thank you. By gloves do you mean the wrist guards? The wrist guards can bruise you if you fall hard but just wearing them they should be comfortable. If they’re giving you bruises without a fall maybe they are too tight or not fitting you correctly?

I've just bought skates in my sixties. (male). My other half thinks I'm crazy and that I'll really hurt myself. I've NEVER roller skated before but used to be a pretty good ice skater (at least going forwards). However, "used to" was 40+ years ago! I will feel embarrassed at my age going out in public and trying to learn but I have invested in protective equipment. That said, am I mad to even try!?

Never too old! Just take your time, concentrate on balance exercises, learn to fall and bail to your safety gear. Bend bend bend. Keep low to the ground and your knees super soft. Like shock absorbers. Video yourself often so you can check your form. Do not hold yourself rigid. Oh and most importantly, have fun! 💕🛼⭐️

I'm keen to get back into skating but my confidence is non existent 😬. I currently have a pair of Raptor skates but they seem very heavy and too rigid. Thanks for your videos, they're very helpful. 👏❤️

Hi SKatie. I'm in Aus and am revisiting my high school skating past. Recently purchased a pair of full-on Jackson skates that are nuts. In March last year a drugged-up neighbour assaulted me and 'obliterated' my face (surgeons report). I nearly died. I occasionally suffer from post-traumatic vertigo when I look down. Any tips for people like me? I promise nothing you suggest will be used against you as I think you are a rockstar. Much love.

Is your skate making a rattling sound? If you give it a shake does it rattle too? If so it could be a loose component. If it’s mainly rattling when you skate then it could be a bearing.
