So the flooring was a hard cargo van floor liner. Kind of a hard fiberboard thing. We decided to not add plywood and sheet panel insulation. We used a gray, short pile outdoor carpet. We bought it off the roll at Lowes. It was $26.00 with a manager discount. The manager thought it was cool to make a Campervan so he gave us a nice discount. My thought is, the carpet keeps the floor cool, but not cold. It vacuums easy and it’s soft enough. If it gets trashed, it’s easily replaceable. We did add a nice soft throw rug in the front area where the cabinets are. We also added a nice throw rug under the bed in the garage area. Both Rugs make a nice soft, comfortable area with a fair amount of sound deadening. The rugs are easily removed to be cleaned. As far as modifications- Cabinets are rolling tool boxes. The bed is built on legs and is secured to the cargo points on the Van walls. The front box seat houses the battery and has some additional storage. The refrigerator is next to the box seat. The Tv is mounted to the Van wall with preexisting threaded holes. The sound deadening curtains in the van are installed with thick bungee cords. They just hook into place. Interior led lighting came with the van. We have a crate in between the seats that act as a dog bed for Pepper and also holds her leash and food and dog coats. Tire inflator and first aid kit under the drivers seat. Shoe storage under the passenger seat. 2 fire extinguishers one in the front and one in the sleeping area. The bed is actually a box. In that box, all of our clothes and other stuff is stored. The bed is 60 inches by 78 inches by 12 inches deep. Everything that would be stored in upper cabinets goes in the bed box. So we don’t need cabinets. Pretty much everything in the van can be removed and turn bank into a cargo van in less than an hour. 😉

Yes. Going past the obvious into why we have one- Some apps rely on cell phone towers to triangulate your position for accuracy in navigation. And when you lose cell signal or start to try to navigate from an area with no service, it may not work at all. If you use an app for navigation that utilizes your phones accelerometer / gps or have saved location maps, it’s less likely you’ll have issues with navigation. We have had issues in the mountains and the desert with navigation not working, so we have a GPS / Satnav that we use. Car GPS doesn’t care about cell towers, or lack of cell signal. It’s been useful to us and we keep it updated. We also keep an older phone in the van just in case too. 👍😉

If you camp in a tent 🏕. Our van is a Campervan. Most items are interchangeable and vanlife and Campervan life pretty similar. I don’t tent camp.
