Try to roll of your foot. So first put your toes on the board, and then your heels. As soon as your heels touch the board, lift up your other leg. That keeps your legs from 'locking' into eachother :)

Trust me. I fall a lot. Especially when learning new tricks. Falling is an essential part in learning things, I think. And the only reason why I'm not covered in flesh wounds is my experience in skating. I've been skateboarding for almost 16 years, so falling on asphalt has become second nature :) Also. I am not God.
