Saw the Minds in Munich in 86 and 89, both superb shows, I missed the 85 show because the next day was my chemistry exam at Munich university, would have loved to see the show, but you cant always get what you want...

Every time I hear this piece of music, it almost brings me to tears but also makes me happy . When I was 5 years old, my sister (5 years older than me) had a best friend named Stephanie. We three used to be together like every day and wanted to create a music band. I always knew the rhythym and could sing - I don´t know what it is called in English - the "second" voice (like in "More Than Words"). My sister had a beautiful voice and Stephanie would learn all instruments. That was in the 80`s and my sister and "Steffi" always argued about who is better - Simple Minds or U2. I always liked Simple Minds better, The melody was more like a dream to a young child like me. Then we turned older, They were like 16, I was 11 and they went to their first concert (gig, live act, whatever) in their life and it was Simple Minds. I remember my parents standing there, waiting for them to come out and get them home. I was standing beside them and tried to take a glance on to what was going on there inside. This means I actually saw Jim Kerr jumping around on the stage. Time went by and Steph turned almost 17 when she showed this video to us. She called herself „Lisa“ - this should be her artist´s name because of Lisa Germano. She started to play the violin because of her. Then - it´s the worst thing that I can´t remember, why - we all divided and I saw Steph one day (my sister was connected to her all the time) standing at the bus station and somehow I couldn`t ...I don´t know the word, I`m really emotional right now...it`s like not knowing, how to behave in a moment. We greeted each other, she smiled at me, so did I, I will never forget this scene because life can be really cruel. Who knew? She seemed immortal to me, She was like a person who would always be there and never would leave my life, as if she was an immortal highlander. She never left my sould. She was my friend, my sister, my family,my heart. I love her so much. She was killed by a car on her bycicle 15 years ago. When she died, I searched for this song like an idiot. I love her so much. And I love Simple Minds so much ;) Thank you for great memories

1989......... 31 anni fa 😢, CAZZO, CAZZO, CAZZO, vorrei tornare a quei tempi, a quei concerti, a quella spensieratezza che tanto mi manca. Oggi sono alla soglia dei 60 anni, ho famiglia e figli, ma una giornata di allora la baratterei con un giorno qualsiasi di oggi. Ascoltando questa " melodia gaelica" se chiudo gli occhi e svuoto la mente, haaaaa che magia mi vedo all'arena quella sera, quella sera che i Simple Minds ci hanno regalato una serata di grande musica e spettacolo impossibile da dimenticare.
