While we planned to have baby #2 in our room for the first six months anyway we kind of have to keep them in there until they sleep through the night and can share a room with Theo. So, I wanted to share our nursery set up in our master bedroom for this baby. Enjoy!

I wish my bed was in a nook like that with curtains around it 😂

That little nook is brilliant & so convenient! .....only thought for me would be - AIR flow. Obviously it’s not sealed off & air can still get through underneath the crib but...... it might be too stuffy. Especially with a newborn & since blackout curtains are heavy. We use blackouts to insulate our drafty windows so, just goes to show they’re not very breathable. Idk just something to consider if you hadn’t already. I know that in some cases - dare I say it - “sids” can happen just from simple improper air circulation in the environment. Still a super cute & cozy concept tho! 👌🧡

My first baby was a exercise ball baby. It was like magic. I learned that from you. I ended up buying a baby bouncer that bounced on its own. So worth it.

I did almost the exact same thing with my youngest crib. He is in our closet with the doors taken off and blackout curtains up. He is almost 13 months old and still going strong in there. It was perfect for sleep training too. No shame! You do what you gotta do!

I've thought about doing this, I have a room size walk in wardrobe and considered putting the crib in there. Is it okay ventilation wise?

@@zainabhussein979 I would just put a small fan in there if there isn't a vent. Just to keep the air moving. I've never had an issue with it though.

That’s the perfect little nook for the crib! Especially in a tight space!

I chose that sheet for my son too!! He’s due any day now. I also got the muslin blanket, swaddle set and changing cover in the same print. I loved the Cloud Island themes for my first too.

It’s so weird watching this after finding out you had another boy! I feel like I’m keeping a secret from you in this video when you say “they” 😆

Creative solution! I don't know how big the nook is but you might want to double check your baby monitor manual because they often say you should keep it at least 1.5 metres away from the baby.

So true too! I’ve noticed my kids sleep better all around when I keep the monitor off. Our frequency meters detected readings as high as a WiFi router

I think that set up is genius! Are the curtains breathable? I wish I had a nook like that. It is such a pain not to be able to make a sound or have any lights on, not even the dimmest of the dim.

yeah that was my first thought too. Not trying to mom shame, it just seems like there might not be great air circulation in there with curtains fully closed. Brings back memories of my mom telling me never to sleep with the blankets over my head haha

I wondered that too. And what about when baby is sitting? Will they be able to pull the curtains down?

Have you tried My Brest Friend breastfeeding pillow? It eliminates the need for that second pillow to prop baby up - it was my absolute must-have as a new mom!

Hi Victoria, I thought you might like to know that the term "Master bedroom' has racist origins/connotations reminiscent of slavery. I've heard a lot of people switch to saying "Primary" when describing the largest bedrooms and bathrooms in their homes.
