“I’m Just a Kid” (2002) is about being a kid and feeling alone, as if no one cared about you. The lyric is delivered with a wink, but it’s rather painful, with lead vocalist Pierre Bouvier singing about being trapped inside the house while everybody else is out having fun (or so it seems). “Every night is the worst night ever,” he laments. Along with “I’d Do Anything,” it’s one of two pieces on their debut album included on the original demo that earned Simple Plan a record deal. The line “I’m just a kid and life is a nightmare” was put in to push the envelope and make the lay stand out. Another ear-catching lyric on their song “Addicted” (2003) reads “I’m a dick / I’m addicted to you.” GREAT LYRICAL AND MUSICAL PHRASING, FELLOWS‼️ 💚🎼💙

Man, this song really hits hard! It perfectly describes my childhood and even my life now at 21. I may not be a kid anymore, but I'm still struggling with loneliness. Going through childhood with undiagnosed autism sucks.

This song describes how I feel as an autistic teenager with stunted social skills due to other kids having not wanted to talk to me, who sees Instagram stories from friends at crazy parties and I wish I could have been there. I've only been to one of these crazy parties and it was amazing. "I try to think about the last time I had a good time" makes me think about that party.

The mid 90s till early 2000s, PUNK rock is a thing of beauty. Not as epic as its predecessors like AC/Dc, Nirvana, Led Zep etc. Not as frivolous as what came later. But these songs are weirdly satisfying and relatable. For those who grew up in 90s (i am 1987 born), these songs will never die. Simple Plan. Blink 182, Good Charlotte, 3 doors Down, Smash Mouth, Sum 41 - All great bands of that great time of growing up. Good music. good memories

That's how i feel now. I feel like the saddest child ever, i hate it. This day was too much stressed, yesterday was pretty bad and tomorrow is gonna be even more stressful. So yeah... It's night and i'm just having this in full loud and singing. Maybe my parents will give me a bit of attention? I dunno, wish me luck. I don't know how i'm gonna make it out alive tommorow.

Somehow... It was a stressful day, but now it's kinda better. My parents aren't angry at me now so it's alright. They didn't find that i was crying and they didn't come to give me attention but it's okay. Now i feel like just sad child, not "the saddest child ever". Thank you. I could not say this to somebody who i know. Yeah, now it's better. I made it alive.

I will tell you this being an adult isn't fun either. I know it may seem like it is fun now to you but, it really isn't take it from someone who is almost 40 now and still trying to cling on to my youth in not so crazy ways that it starts to be illegal or tacky who is a stay at home mom who has to stare at the same walls all day on most days because I don't drive. Who has friends that does have more fun than me that never call even though they know my phone number since I have had the same number for 4 years. So hang on to your youth as tightly as you can.

Hey its me from diffrent account (?). Its been almost a year i guess. I was so scared to click there becouse this song is making me feel bad about my life, but im always trying so its not fair. I know that many people in my life were like not taking my problems that seriously. Becouse im young and school isnt that bad- it was. It really was. Just a little reminder that Yeah, sometimes its shitty and you might feel like the saddest kid ever, there will always be tommorow. Just a little reminder - you always gotta try. Even if you dont feel like - just try changing something and even if you fail you will know that you did something. Just be nice to yourself, people ❤
