Lyrics:
Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you?
Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you're screaming?
No, you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like
To be like me
To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life
Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more
Before your life is over?
Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
While deep inside you're bleeding
No, you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like
To be like me
To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life
No one ever lied straight to your face
And no one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy, but I'm not gonna be okay
Everybody always gave you what you wanted
You never had to work, it was always there
You don't know what it's like, what it's like
To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like (What it's like)
To be hurt, to feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No, you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life
Welcome to my life

Most teenagers today don’t even know what good music or who simple plan is, there brainwashed with this new shit that makes them wanna grow to be something they don’t need to be. The media is corrupted, sure new music is good but these never made it to billboards and they deserved to 🤙🏽

This song still hits so hard so many years later. And what’s crazy is the meaning has developed. From helping me cope with feeling misunderstood to now realizing the point is that we all have problems and often many of us feel not okay and we all feel like no one else understands.

I have autism and sometimes I feel like I I’m not fully understood, and people just see my autistic part of my but that’s only one thing about me, luckily my parents had the love and patience for me and I thank them everyday for the love they gave me and tired to take the item to understand me.

Hey men , I'm autistic too and I've been working on my feelings and trying to understend myself first before trying to make the others understand me for about 10 years now. I have to say that the most important thing is to take the time to explain yourself and be patient . Yes they need to be open to your Ideas but you also need to be open to reiterate whatever you want to say. And like you said , autism is only one part of us , and it's realy a good idea to starts exploring who are you as an individual and what makes you the person that you are today. For exemple , I'm someone that will help other people resolve their problems but I know wen to laught too. My friends and my ex-girlfriends says that I'm somewhat like a child but I find it ok and I embrase it .Hopefully you will find yourself one day , but you will need a lot of work on yourself . I recomend Jet-pack jay don't be hard on yourself if you're going trough rough times ^^

listening on 2021 Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you ever feel out of place? Like somehow you just don't belong And no one understands you Do you ever want to run away? Do you lock yourself in your room? With the radio on turned up so loud That no one hears you screaming No you don't know what its like When nothing feels alright You don't know what its like to be like me To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one there to save you No you don't know what its like Welcome to my life Do you want to be somebody else? Are you sick of feeling so left out? Are you desperate to find something more Before your life is over Are you stuck inside a world you hate? Are you sick of everyone around? With the big fake smiles and stupid lies But deep inside you're bleeding No you don't know what its like When nothing feels alright You don't know what its like to be like me To be hurt To feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one there to save you No you don't know what its like Welcome to my life No one ever lied straight to your face And no one ever stabbed you in the back You might think I'm happy But I'm not gonna be okay Everybody always gave you what you wanted You never had to work it was always there You don't know what its like What its like To be hurt To feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one there to save you No you don't know what its like What its like To be hurt To feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No you don't know what its like Welcome to my life Welcome to my life Welcome to my life

I enjoy the comments on this video. The song says "You don't know what it's like to feel like me". And by the fact that a lot of people don't seem to grasp the concept of the song, it seems that the song is right. To be hurt and not daring to scream, lest your problems are cancelled out because others have it worse. Because for some reason, that makes sense. To feel lost because we are all expected to know where we're going and what we want in life, but in truth we don't know what we're doing. To be left out in the dark because people say that "You won't understand". To be kicked when you're down for saying that you're hurting, and your problems made into mere selfishness because "others have it worse". To feel like you've been pushed around when nobody seems to understand, when you're forcefully pushed into a reality that you're not ready for. Somehow that's life. But most of the time, it's when you're pushed by people who think "it's about time". To be on the edge of breaking down and no one's there to save you, because others have it worse. Because they don't understand. Because you're not allowed to have problems. Because you're not allowed to feel sad or angry or be emotional, because for some stupid reason all that's cancelled out when "someone else has it worse" or, perhaps because "It's not a real problem". No, you don't know what it's like. Welcome to my life. We're allowed to feel emotions. Our problems are not cancelled out by other's. How does that even work anyway. Emotions are natural. Don't try stop people from feeling sad, happy, angry or whatever. It makes the happy feel sad, the sad feel worse and the Angry be angrier. Attention is something we all want, every now and then. Some more than others. In other words : We're all allowed to complain and feel emotions and have problems. Bye.

Today, I´m almost 28, and I just came back from their headlining show at the Eventim Apollo in London. They literally introduced me to my main hobby nowadays, going to gigs. Songs like this were always in my playlist during my high school years (with this being one of the most played). I don't think, I would've survived high school if it weren't for bands like SP to make it somewhat relatable. That was 10-15 years ago. Now I am 30, don't feel as lost and useless, but this song still feels so relatable.

I just turned 26 today, this song meant so much to me when I was in middle school and beyond. Always feeling so alone and broken, this was my anthem.

You’re not alone, I’m in my 30’s and can relate. I don’t think you are ever too old to relate to this tbh. I also have so much nostalgia for these times, I’d give anything to go back. I’ve said this to many people but nostalgia can be deadly, it can make me want to end it all when I think of the good times when I was younger…then compare them to now 😅

I agree completely with both of you… I’m 31 years old now and I would give anything to go back to some better old times. Nostalgia hits hard.

I used to play this song in my room when i was in high school, nearly took my own life to this song. Now that i have a son, i swear to myself i Will never let him feels what i felt as a teenager, i'll make sure he has me anytime he needs me, i'll make sure i'll be his #1 supporter. Life is worth living, I'm glad i didn't pull the trigger

"Welcome To My Life" Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you ever feel out of place Like somehow you just don't belong And no one understands you? Do you ever wanna run away? Do you lock yourself in your room With the radio on turned up so loud That no one hears you're screaming? No, you don't know what it's like When nothing feels alright You don't know what it's like To be like me To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No, you don't know what it's like Welcome to my life Do you wanna be somebody else? Are you sick of feeling so left out? Are you desperate to find something more Before your life is over? Are you stuck inside a world you hate? Are you sick of everyone around? With their big fake smiles and stupid lies While deep inside you're bleeding No, you don't know what it's like When nothing feels alright You don't know what it's like To be like me To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No, you don't know what it's like Welcome to my life No one ever lied straight to your face And no one ever stabbed you in the back You might think I'm happy, but I'm not gonna be okay Everybody always gave you what you wanted You never had to work, it was always there You don't know what it's like, what it's like To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No, you don't know what it's like (What it's like) To be hurt, to feel lost To be left out in the dark To be kicked when you're down To feel like you've been pushed around To be on the edge of breaking down And no one's there to save you No, you don't know what it's like Welcome to my life Welcome to my life Welcome to my life

A lot of people on here are saying 10-11 years later . The song actually came out in 2004 when I was in 6th grade . I’m 27 now and I’m still listening to all the 2000’s best songs . Man what an era we grew up in . Like this if you really miss being a kid 😥.
