I am a Canadian Army Veteran and I have a special fondness for the poppy. I was looking for some cards I could purchase, but couldn't find any I like. So, I thought I'd learn how to do some watercolour poppies on some card stock I have to make my own. I only dabble a little with watercolours. This is gorgeous! You have such a lovely even voice and your photography is very clear and steps very easy to follow - now whether or not I can actually do it remains to be seen. Hi Karen, you do this so easily!, I think I get it after your tutorial, there must be plenty of water so that you have time to drop the paint and let it do as you say “it’s thing”. Thank you for all the advice you unselfishly give us. ❤

I absolutely love how you are able to define and carve out those separate petals of the poppy just by using the paint and blending with water to create shadows. I am going to practice that. Wonderful content as always, Karen.

This is a great tutorial on painting poppies (with detail not just loose)! I can mix my water colors now but biggest issue is don’t really “know where to put shadows” & how much are your classes “monthly” as still trying to pull & blend thicker pigment (practice time)! Tyvm!!

I hoped you weren't sick with COVID but also thought you could be on holidays. The fall leaves video I did receive in my email but several days after you had posted it. Gosh Karen! This one’s beauty stopped my heart. I’m working on some small poppies for a bookmark, taking my time and building up tonal values. It takes a lot of time, but is so worth it in the end. Hello KR. I'm coming a little late to this poppy party but I just wanted you to know I finished mine today. Again, another lovely result from following you. Thank you! (Btw I did the background first, wet on wet, blue and green, sprinkled with salt and then painted the flower. I got that idea from another KR vid. You're a great inspiration!)

I know you have taught for years but for those of us in the US, it would be awesome if you could, especially with what is happening around the world.
