Nice video. What is the process to eliminate a bacterial infection with tannins? How much tannins and from where? Last year I disturbed my substrate and from there I lost half of my colony over a period of three months until I restarted the tank. It would've been good to know this trick.

If the tank has a tds of 130, do i mix and add the exact same tds solution when doing waterchange? Or if say after waterchange the tds is 100ppm i add only 30ppm get a total of 130 again?

Add back in the exact same tds of the water in the tank. Mix it to 130

So for top offs from evaporation distilled/RO is fine. For water changes always remineralize the water you’re adding in so say you want TDS in tank to be 120 then you’d remineralize your new water adding in to 120 TDS correct? I think I’m understanding correctly but making damn sure! First time running caridina🤘🏻 neos don’t give a fuck🤣

Yes you got that correct however I would aim for a higher tds. We didn't have much luck with tds under 130

@@thegardenofeder Okay! I have mine cycling on day 11 right now TDS with distilled water and various brightwell squirts I’m at 130-140 TDS Also while I got ya here is shrimpprep needed? Brightwell makes it for making tap water safe for ammonia and such but does distilled ever need that? Wondering if I should get a bottle to have on hand just for the ammonia properties

Very informative, my ph is always 7.6, I’m in Australia, what shrimp can I keep with guppies and platies ?

I’m new to this, but I am keeping mine with guppy fry. I’ll switch ‘em out as they grow bigger (the fry).
