I bought some freeze dried candy recently from the tiktok shop (sorry, I got suckered!), and actually loved it. I'm a handy dude, build all kinds of stuff. Work on cars, 3d print, build gaming systems, work on computers, candle maker, soap make, etc. I thought being able to make freeze dried fruits would be awesome after subscribing to an overnight oat plan, and realizing I could make it myself, with the exception of some parts. Those parts were the freeze dried fruits. I couldn't justify the $4k price tag to make oats, but after watching some of your videos, I realized I can make a business out of it, and benefit from being able to freeze dry fruits for my own purpose. Thanks for encouraging me, and giving me confidence to spend way more money that I had liquid, to invest in something I think will make me an additional income to get back in track!

For Kiwi, I use a veggie peeler… make sure it’s sharp! I peel them like an apple, then take the ends off.

I appreciate your video work so much. Thank you for sharing. I live in Florida and operate a mango farm and we also run a freeze drying business. I would recommend taking the skin off of the mangoes since some people are highly sensitive to the skin of mangoes. The sap in mangoes is called urushiol and it is related to the oils of poison ivy. Some people are intensely allergic to it. It doesn't bother everybody but just saying once in a while...Mangoes are related to the cashew and pistachio family. Thanks again!

When I saw your video months ago about the tool for slicing strawberries that was a game changer I do have trouble with it getting stuck sometimes but it's still very helpful I can't wait to try the tool for the mango

I think putting the container of skittles into the freezer first the condensation moistens them just enough to allow the powder to adhere to the skittles. This keeps the colors looking nice and not smeared.

I also own a stay fresh freeze dryer LOVE it...heres my issue ..I don;t see the size of these lids or any other product it always just says for medium harvest right or xl etc....can't they put messurments instead??? I might be able to purchase for my stay fresh or maybe I could modify but I need actual sizes.!!

I’ve heard you can actually leave the skins on kiwi and just slice and FD them. I haven’t tried it yet, but would be worth at least testing on your next kiwi batch.

I have a medium Blue Alpine freeze dryer and it works great. Stainless steel chamber , racks and trays. Awesome customer service as well. Sorry, no tips for kiwi's

Have you tried freeze drying ataulfo mangoes? I'm not sure if the mango slicer or pit remover gadget will work.

@@freezedriedbusiness I hope one day you will As in one of these days since ataulfo mangoes are in season and they are sweet. The taste remains... if they are sweet..the fd are also sweet. If u fd sort of sour...result will also be sort of sour

FYI.. in CA that’s called a Mexican papaya. Very large, cheaper but not as flavorful. Still good but not the best. I would bet freeze drying would concentrate the flavor to help out.
