When installing binding on carpet the nap can push and deform, getting in the way and creating bulk on your finished project. To fix this issue I used to trim the carpet with my scissors before sewing the binding. Now that I've figured out this trick - I get a clean, consistent lines every time!
Just grab some cheap hair clippers and run the clippers along the edge of the carpet before binding. Using the clippers allows for a consistent angle, making for a clean chamfer and easy sewing!
