Not only is this system really inefficient (90% power as heat waste) this is exceptionally dangerous as the temperature of that resistor rises it will eventually burn out which may short causing a fire. Not to mention that creating a pigtail in this manner is against electrical code and you will be liable if a fire happens.

This is also how I’m charging my car battery. I have a wire with a diode and a rezistor like yours, and it charges my battery car in 5 minutes! It’s amazing.

Half bridge Rectifier with single diode. No ripple filteration, Pulsating dc (led won't last long) If he had twisted the 2 wire instead of soldering, it would have been perfect video of what not to do in electronics. USE A BRICK CHARGER IF YOU WANT CHEAP ALTERNATIVE.

1. In the wall is AC not DC 2. With resistors you can make 12v but didn't convert AC to DC 3. After you plug it in to the wall led started burning 4. If you want start fire, do this

Well I can't forbid you from doing what you want, so if you ARE going to build this and connecting it to an AC outlet, then please make sure that you keep a fire extinguisher close - and fingers away 🙄 (In order words - this is a BAD idea!)

Not for long duration your led will burn out or resistor will.Slight surge in supply will do this.Not stable solution.Local led bulbs have more safety than this circuit but for experiments its ok.

Formula for LED resistor is R = (Supply voltage - LED voltage) / LED ampere. So, R = (220-2)/0.02 = 11k but when I connect 11k with glass type transparent LED then it fuses after sometime. Why?
