What I don't like and generally refuse to use are planners that have calendars with Sunday start and weeklies with Monday start. My actual week starts on Mondays and I do things on the weekend. My "weekend" is split, Wednesday and Saturday. I work every other day. This is why I spend the time near the end of each month to make my own. It's actually peaceful for me.

I guess it takes all of us to make life work. I won’t use a planner that has a Monday start month, but I can use either a Sunday or Monday start week.

As a left handed person, this planner actually looks decent in terms of difficulty to write in. I used to write in book-bound notebooks almost all of my school life and plenty of them were a lot worse than this. I generally find bound notebooks to be much easier to write in than all the spiral ones.

Compared to the other planners in this price range, I really feel like if you are going to spend this much on a planner, spend a couple more dollars and get the Makselife planner. It seems to me to be more bang for your buck.

As an IT it always irks me when I see password pages in notebooks or even when friends and family write their passwords down. Use a password manager! Social engineering is the most popular and easiest way to get information. It just gets to me every time. I mean, I don't want to scold people, but gahhhhhhhh!

I think anything online is infinitely less secure than a written list. I have a small password book in my desk. I can tell you that it is total hell trying to settle an estate where you can’t find someone’s passwords.

I work in IT and one of the most common "hacks" is to simply find the location where a user wrote down a trusted password. If you know someone has a planner that they always carry, chances are they have a password written somewhere in it. If you ever saw the 80's movie "Wargames", the high school secretary kept that week's password to the grade-keeping system in her desk drawer or something like that, and the main character just needed to distract her long enough to look at it. That was 40 years ago and people are still doing it. I also know someone who keeps her ATM PIN on a sticker on the back of her card in her wallet. I said "why not just carry all the cash with you and save the thief the trouble of going to the ATM?" And she thinks *I'm* the dumb one.

That tiny block for Sunday bugs me. There are weeks I just veg, but Sunday is really my only weekend day. It's for planning and pill organization and visiting my mom and going to my physical therapist, and maybe a big shopping trip, and now looking at apartments. And I think $50 is too much just considering the quality of the paper, despite how utterly gorgeous the cover is. (OTOH, I think that since it's undated, the Sunday start months can easily be made into Monday starts if that's your preference.)

I will not use a planner that gives Sat/Sun less space than weekdays, period. I'm currently using half-letter pages I designed myself based on the Cloth & Paper 2 days on one page (vertical) layout. The first page of the week is a general section paired with Monday, and I use the general section for tasks I know I want to complete that week but can't yet commit to a specific day. It has worked out really well for the last year.
@LissaxKristine
@LissaxKristine Жыл бұрын
I'm not a fan of the book binding and I'd like more Sunday space, but I do like the layout for Monday-Friday. I think if they did Mon-Thurs on one page and Fri-Sun on the other with a notes section at the bottom (like the EC vertical) it would be such a good layout-especially for someone like me who usually does daily planning, but can't always justify the space needed to plan that way
@flygirl2447
@flygirl2447 2 жыл бұрын
In general costs have gone up for planner makers. They are all more expensive this year because paper, etc are more expensive. I’ll pay it for a planner that’s well-made and well designed. That said, this one bothers me with the shared weekend spaces. My work week is not M-F. Also, I get the intention behind the Sunday prep, but I don’t use it. It’s wasted space for me. IMO, that’s a personal thing that you shouldn’t feel locked into because it’s printed on the page.

The notebook is interesting. I kind of like the monthly layouts--I could see myself using the to-do section for chores or house stuff. I also like the repetitive tasks tracker. If I were actually working on business ideas or projects, though, there's not nearly enough room. I wonder if the target audience is MLM #mombosses.

I'm really disappointed with the pricing of these, given that I'm Aussie; if I wanted to get them, I'd be paying out over $65AUD before shipping. To put it into perspective, I just paid $50AUD with 0 shipping (dreamymoons) for a daily planner with twice as much content, and looks to be nicer paper. I see not a lot of difference between this and many other of similar sizes on yours & many other channels, so I don't know why the significant price increase, when the general average is around the $30~ .

Ugh why do most planner companies screw with weekends. I have such limited options and I am a health care worker that works crazy hours and people don’t have power buttons on the weekend. I love my job, been doing it 35 years but this is frustrating when schedules change and rotate. We work weekends and holidays. Or if we are not working, which rarely happens, we are busting ass to get as much as we can done because we come home exhausted. Some people with little ones or partners have less then 8 hours before going back so that means sleep and self care has to be sacrificed just to have a moment for loved ones. We as health care workers love what we do, it’s why we choose to do what we do because your life matters. But for the love of the universe PLEASE think about this when it comes to designing weekends. For those who review or talk to company’s please pass on the info. Us health care workers would be beyond appreciated. Sorry about the rant.

I believe it's named after the Mohawk River, not the tribe. The company is based near where I went to college. I don't know if that makes it any better since the River was presumably named after the tribe, though.

@@eggontoast608 I know that that is what they put on their website, but unfortunately that doesn't really make it any better, and infact to me feels a little icky/deceptive/misleading, since I did some googling and about a decade ago they did a branding overhaul and changed their logo from the profile of a native American man with traditional hair and feathers to their new "gear" type "M" logo. I so wish they would have just changed their name at that time. 😟. They seem like a generally great company, apart of their name, but unfortunately it just sits too uncomfortably for me to knowingly purchase products using their paper.
