When i read the book i was literally gonna fie of boredom I could never understand how interesting the plot was until i watched this video U in this 10 mins helped me more than my eng teacher could in 3weeks Thank you🔥🔥👌👌

Didn’t forget, but like you say, she only really shows the social status of the Birlings. I’m sure there are other interpretations of her as a character, but for a plot overview I don’t really think it was necessary to mention her as a central character.

I never understood who the inspector was or how he knew the girl was going to commit suicide. Remember, Gerald called the hospital and there was no dead girl there yet.

The only character to die in the play is Eva Smith, who also goes by the name Daisy Renton.

Isn’t the inspector a ghoul, and not real? He literally predicted the future.

It’s left ambiguous who, or what, the Inspector was. Some people interpret his name “Goole” as relating to ‘ghoul’, as you said, and so infer he was a kind of supernatural being. Other people argue he is a physical manifestation of the Birlings’ guilt. There are many different theories but no definitive answer, which was intentional from Priestley.
