My first 2024 fish room vlog! I have four different projects that need to be started, which one do you think I should tackle first? The vivarium, the SKYRIM tank, the mystery mushroom tank, or the turtle tank? Either post a comment down below or check out my poll post.
I've been gone for a while, I think I suffered some major burnout after dealing with a lot of unfortunate real-life stuff. I feel good again, though, and I'm back to my favorite hobby :)

The Turtle Tank has a living animal in it (a turtle) so the Turtle Tank should be the first thing you take care of.

Emails and Turtle tank. Emails because once you're done with that, you won't have it looming over your head. And it might help you gain some new motivations. Turtle tank because the turtle is there, and I think it would be fun to see a cool living area for it with hiding spots, tunnels, etc. Welcome back we are happy to see you!

So many of my favourite Fish tubers have disappeared because their lives took an unexpected turn, some good, some definitely not🥺. Lovely to see your smiling face again! I know exactly what it's like to get overwhelmed and have that creative passion fade, my last 3 months I've fallen into a nonproductive rut, too much screen time instead of work time! Hopefully you'll inspire me to get moving😁 I think tackling that little turtle, the tank isn't that good for it, maybe repurpose the tub and make a little indoor pond? Give it some more room and an area to get out and crawl?

Oh really! Who else disappeared? You know, the overwhelm is really hard to get over sometimes. It really saps the strength. I'll make the 40g way nicer for turtle, she's gonna have to wait a bit for an upgrade to a 75. The kid who brought her home is gonna have the turtle in their room soon!

Rachel O'Leary is battling cancer😪, Adam C has burn out, Tank Tested has disappeared, Foo the Flowerhorn has also cut back a LOT. Biotopic and George Farmer seem to be struggling but George is still putting out content 🥺. Some other tubers from Europe have stopped because of KZfaq changing their policies...The really knowledgeable fishtubers ( the ones that are in it not for Fame and clicks) are becoming rare! Still plenty of beginner hobbyists giving out advice but the ones with experience ( or at least the ones I know and trust) have certainly diminished. Good luck with the turtle!💟 Sounds like a good project to educate the littlies ( Bluey reference 😁)

@@graphite2786 King of DIY is still putting out content tho. MD fish tanks and Aquapros as well. I think it's safe to say a lot of the viewers have gone away as well like myself, i started watching them during my teen years and did so religiously, following everyone's upload schedule and all but now i have a full time job and a fiancé i barely watch youtube anymore.

Welcome back! Good to see you enjoying your hobby again, and love the hair!!!! As a fellow creative who starts a million things and then never finishes them, my advice would normally be to pick the project closest to done and actually finish it. Get a win under the belt. In this case I’d probs say to do the turtle tank, since it has a living being already. Excited to see all your cool projects!

So glad your back! 🥳 Just say no to the emails! Do the skyrim tank, it seems to be the only one that will be a specific "loose end" hanging over you if you leave it. The rest can be anything at any time.

Good to see you back, didn't realise it was 5 months, just knew you'd been MIA. My suggestion - if you don't think the turtle is in the best environment sort him out first; if you start on other projects it will be niggling in your mind that you should be doing better by him. The other projects can wait a couple of weeks.

So glad you're back! I totally understand the burnout. I used to watch pretty much every fish youtuber out there 5-6 years ago while i was in school. Then adulting happened and i barely watched youtube anymore. Only checkout occasionally. I used to have 5 fishtanks, two 120gs and two 40gs and a 10g with a variety of fish. Ended up selling off almost all of them when i started college. Now i only have a 10 gallon betta tank which is much more manageable. It's totally okay and i wish you all the best!

Delighted to see you again! ❤🎉 I’m coming out of a bit of a burnout/depression myself, and my fish are helping me get moving again. I keep nano livebearers, which mean on the plus side, there are always babies! And on the negative side, there are always more and more babies. 😂 Personally I’d love to see the turtle get some love. Look at that adorable lil guy. Or gal. What a great smile! 😊

Turtle tank! But if you need to do more research on what's needed - and get more supplies, maybe start that process and do another project you can reasonably complete quicker. I was thinking maybe transfer your evil piece of driftwood into the vivarium and cover it in your anubias. Or whatever epiphyte plants that would appreciate the driftwood real estate. My rationale is - and it's little explored in fish themed content, is getting your plants in waiting, in full view like a feature plant tank. That way they will be less likely to have their weekly requirements ignored and more likely to have a better environment to cope when it's necessary to neglect the fish room, from time to time. I like to solve as many problems with one solution as possible. So you're solving what to do with the driftwood, neglected crispy plants out of view - repurposing a tall, specialised vivarium tank, and lastly, putting some new energy into an old hobby you're wondering where to jump in? If you want to add more driftwood to the original piece, just wire it on and cover with moss. I wouldn't make it livestock tank. Just a feature housing plant tank, for better plant management. Basic to start with but maybe add a mister on an automatic timer, later. No more, I forgot to water the plants because I'm busy. 😊

Welcome back! It's okay that you needed a break. Crap just happens. If you need to take another later on down the line, do it. Also, I LOVE your hair color. If you need advice on turtles, go watch Snake Discovery's channel. They've got advice on every reptile and amphibian, from leopard geckos to turtles and everywhere in between. I'll always recommend them to new reptile/aquatic pet owners.

Do a research video on how to look after your new turtle by checking out other KZfaqrs that have turtles. And how important it is to do your research, to enrich your turtle life. I am glad you’re back, I understand the burnout.

Great having you back, when I heard about the new LOTR MOVIE about Gollum being made today I thought of you and had to tell you about it. The movie coming out in 2026 Hunt for Gollum. after some of your fish video's and the joy I got from a hygger thermometer for my betta I found this Hygger filter that is working amazingly in my turtle tank. All of the previous filters would either gunk up too fast or seem like they're not doing anything at all but fingers crossed so far this one is doing wonderfully. ^_^ hygger Power Aquarium Sponge Filter

Turtle tank since you have the turtle already. As for emails and social media, set time limits or mini goals. When my email got super backed up, I set myself a goal of trashing 1000 a day of the spammy looking ones and answering/dealing with 10/20 a day of the ones that actually needed responses.

I’m begging for anything involving diy aquarium decor. I’ve been researching and searching for months (which is how I found you) but there is just nothing good out there on this topic. I’m in the middle of a project myself and would so appreciate this help so I can finally have a tank setup! Love your videos! Glad you’re back!

Yes! Depending on if I do skyrim tank or mushroom tank first, one is going to be done using mostly a 2-part epoxy sculpting medium, and one might be mostly natural but with some cast resin elements. And will be a trial and error type project, so hopefully fun and informative!
