Those old Patriots Ravens games regular season and playoffs - and then later when Anquon Boldin was making heroes out of Joe Shmo QBs for the Cards/Ravens/49ers were the best football games in terms of physicality. Defenses now are about disguise and confusion and is two hand touch up front, there's a clean pocket by rule. Theres just something about watching an offense rise to the physicality of those old bullies and doing it under threat and actual duress of VIOLENCE that is missing in today's game.

@@zolkupnext1645 that's a bad comparison because they played two different positions. Troy played strong safety and Ed played free safety. Their roles weren't the same. However....Troy was a very good strong safety, but he wasn't the greatest strong safety of all time. Ed is the greatest free safety of all time.

Bro, that defence was literally something else. That defence had to be the most feared in terms of who was gonna rock your shit on each play. If Ray Lewis wasn't the one it was either Ed Reed or even Terrell Suggs. What a privilege it was to watch them throughout their careers.
