Agreed. In my experience, at the end of the day you just don't need so many bells and whistles. The A350 is arguably the best wide body airliner out there as of today, that should be enough for a smooth ride. As for the food, I'll take a tasty pasta dish, no matter how simple or cheap, and a good ham and cheese sandwich any day before some more elaborate plates you get out there that, in the end, just aren't up to their pretensions. A good IFE is a nice thing to have in a 10 hour flight though.

The seating is as good as the one used on Lufthansa, BA or JAL.

I also rode Madrid's metro when I was young, personally for me is one of the best metro systems in the world.

When I was in Madrid Airport, as I left the ticket counter, the sign said my gate was a 22 minute walk!

well, when you have to go , you have to go. Same flight here from SJO next to a fat man who took my personal space for the whole 10 hrs. It was Air Europa though, as insufferable. But they have a 787 which seems a bit nicer and more spacious. Still... My mom took this flight yesterday and I was just checking how worse the airbus is compared.

No. Cellular services and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth devices on a mobile device have to be in flight mode, bigger devices like laptop/tablets have to be stowed securely. I always put my wired headfones in my ears, as people annoy me on aircrafts, and I try to ignore them as much as possible. It is the best thing, like ever! And after take off, my iPad comes out with movies/series I like to watch. IFE doesn’t interest me at all. I hate flying as a passenger. I am glad I experienced my flying job in the good ole times. Nowadays to tacky Cancun? Naaa…never ever. Overpriced Mauritius or Seychelles? Please noooo! But I do have secret escapes I am not mentioning I love to go to. And they are all far away from people 😆
