Actually if ya wanna get technical Avon made a liquid mirror chrome collection back in the early 2000s probably between 2000-2003 they had several other colors but the main one was the regular chrome silver one.

@@purplecactus2939 If it's applied correctly you get a mirror finish on smooth clean nails. No basecoat, 1 coat of color fast application.

The actual first 'mirror polish' was Ardene brand,or A-co, has mirror finish polish in silver,blue, rose gold and plenty of other colours, but I'm too lazy too type them all. AND THEY ARE SO PRETTY!!!!! I first saw them mid May of 2016

I've been following her instagram since 2013/14 (can't remember, just know it was in 7th grade). boy was it a shock to suddenly see her become super big. i just noticed that she'd started posting pictures and videos with herself in them and links to youtube videos, but i didn't start paying attention until the whole 100 layer thing exploded. so i both was and wasn't here before polish mountain, hahah edit: i went way back in her instagram and couldn't load anything beyond may 2014, but apparently she only had 720 followers back then, meaning i was among the first 700. ain't that weird.

I had a silver chrome nail polish in 2003, I could see my reflection in it unlike the shimmery dull gray ones they sell now. Don’t remember the name of the brand though. I looked for it for so long (years) and never found it again. Old news 🤷🏻♀️

Your observation hit the nail on the head! There's no difference between car paint and nail polish. Their formulas are 99.99% identical. They can actually be used interchangeably, which makes me a very lucky girl, considering my husband owns his own auto body, paint, and custom fabrication business! none of those polishes were the first mirror chrome polish. avon released a polish called "mirror shine" back in 2011. i remember having it and 8 year old me was obsessed with it. the earliest review i could find was on august 6th, 2011, but that means it was released earlier than that. it is still available, albeit in different packaging. you should do a follow up to this video!

The interesting thing is that back in like 2000-2001 chrome nail polish was a big trend and I had a kit from the drugstore (I can't remember the brand name now, but it was a big brand name) that was just like this but it was just a bonding base coat and the mirror chrome top coat. It had decent wear. I was an active teen that year and summer and wore it through the year, and while I doing an art summer camp my toenails didn't need repainting the entire two weeks. I even took dance and was dancing barefoot in the dance studio (yeah, they got a little scuffed, but nothing major). One of my drawing teachers even commented on them when he could see how reflective they were when he took us drawing outdoors. I didn't bother to repaint my fingernails during the camp, not so much that the chemicals were hard on my nails, but the constant hand washing made the thin polish peel quickly. If I remember the brand I'll post it.

not sure if it was the best thing my mom ever did but when my dad repainted parts of his car in a very cool green chrome colour, she kept a little bottle of it as nail polish and honestly it behaves the same except for the brush strokes. you couldnt see imperfections when you applied it, it kind of just melted all over your nail and looked real nice. also without a peel off base coat really easy to remove cause you could just peel it off if you put on a top coat

I wonder what would happen if you mixed clear nail Polish with chrome powder or a black sheer one bacuse an opac black one might be to strong for the powder

This was wild! Ultimately I think I prefer regular chrome powder, but the science in the dark magic behind this is just beautiful.
