Most gaming headsets don't sound as good as studio headphones so I got an AKG headphone and used a modmic

Also FYI for anyone wondering, on the Astro A40s, the microphone comes off and you can pop out the side panel of the headset so that you can switch which side you prefer the mic to be on, there are holes on each side, it’s just that one is covered. Really good design in my opinion

I shouldn't even be worried about the looks but I just can't get into how they look. The mic and audio sounded great though! I haven't made it through the whole video but those might be it!

I tried both and I'm not an audiophile so I can't pinpoint the difference in sound quality, but the cloud 2 is WAY more comfortable than the arctis 3. I love a good padding on both the ear muffs AND the headband. The arctis 3 stock earmuffs feels like cheap bathroom material and there isn't a cushion on the headband. It's just a strap, all of which can get uncomfortable after few hours of use. So for comfortability reasoning alone, cloud 2 for sure and been using it for about 2-3 years now

I have the hyperx cloud 2 & they are amazing. Worth every cent.

really? have you looked anywhere else for reviews? cause this is possibly one of the worst reviews I've seen he tells us nothing about the headphones and then tells us things that are completely wrong and could potentially ruin a pair of headsets all because he's spent no time with them and didn't do his research... oh and BTW I have the SteelSeries arctis Pro + GameDAC and if the Arctis 3 is anything like them I promise you your in for a high-quality headset that is good for a lot more then playing games, mine has some of the best bass I've ever heard and no distortion everything is crystal clear they didn't sound that great out of the box but man once I adjusted the EQ a little bit it opened up a whole new world and you can pinpoint people really easy just don't go plugging a phone into the 3.5mm jack on the side of the ear cup like this idiot says you can do because there's a good chance you could fry them, its meant to be used as an output for someone else to plug their headset into and listen... I've been through a lot of headsets and the only real competitors in this list are Astro and SteelSeries... hyperx and Logitech can be good too... IDK what this other guy is talking about when he said cheap bathroom material but then again I don't go rubbing my ears on stuff in the bathroom so I probably wouldn't know 😂 I mean its memory foam, idt I've ever seen memory foam in a bathroom

@@ericsmith8949 You're assuming arctis 3 is anything like the Arctis pro. They're totally different and all of arctis 3/5/7 are uncomfortable and feels like cheap material compared to the memory foam the pro version (hella overpriced) uses. By bathroom material, I mean like a loofah or some sort of wash cloth texture. I mean, yeah you could always replace them, but I'm talking about the stock version. Obviously, I don't mean to compare the texture of the materials by putting it on my ears, you know you can feel and compare texture with your hands, right?

bro, I wouldn't really take any of our words for it, find the one you feel will best suit you... just know if you cheap out you're giving up on something, it's not always clear what it is... I feel if your having a hard time choosing maybe you can do what I do and go buy the headset you like from a nearby store so that way you can try it out and take it back if you don't like it or want to try another one

@@strawhatspeed i actually got the arctis 5 because they were on sale, i love them. People have said that the bass isnt good but if you crank that up in the steelseries engine it will actually shake your head a little. The comfort is amazing, the 7.1 surround sound is perfect when playing something stealthy. Its also good that you can buy a new cable to the headset if the original breaks. I would guess that the arctis 3 are fairly the same. You cant buy a new cable to the arctis 3 if it breaks. Hope this helped.

@@chetpothuraju286 very true but I've tried so many different headsets including a pair of hyper x cloud alpha 2 which are really comfortable, but I wear glasses and the stealseries pro are the most comfortable so far and I can wear them for hours with no problems, try the stealseries 3 they are really good and just as comfortable

I have astro a40s from 5+ years ago that still work fine and sound great audio wise. Wouldn't worry about it too much.

I have had the Arctis pro wireless for almost a year and have no gripes whatsoever. Biggest upside is the removable lithium ion battery. 10 hours X 2. Had the Turtle Beach Stealth 800 (whatever their top ps4 headset was) before buying the Steelseries and although the Turtle Beach was better sounding with better sound cancelling, the Steelseries is the clear winner.

@THROWOWAY ACCOUNT they are for listening to music, but not that great for console gamers. I started out using them and found out that other companies make their gaming headphones more in tune with gaming, not music. Sennheiser is the best at reproducing symphony music, but lacks in the cinematics area. To each their own, but I use purpose built equipment. Audiophile for the music, cinematic for games
